i booked this short break after asking if it would be possible due to my 83yo moms health she could have a lower easy access room..i was assured this would be no problem. we arrived bang on the dot 2pm friday..1st time ive ever had to pay on arrival anywhere, made own way to rooms..felt like a rabbit warren, we got bit lost ..found mom's room back of beyond 1st floor.mom walks with a stick but we had to lift mom over a drawbridge effect(3 steps up,3 steps down),,so felt like 100yds from lift..we went to our room..lift was next to room but only goes up to top floor, we swapped mom round so she had at least a seaview, meal and entertainment was good all nights but cutlery missing,no jugs of water on tables,coffee cold/luke warm sugar was packet type and empty wrappers still on our table from previous guests, think last nights meal was a box meal,spoke to owner sat morning,wife was concerned bout a few things but she didnt want to know, i may be old fashioned but id like the owner to be on site as much as poss, they have a book of instructions but it doesnt work if staff have no idea what to do and only a small understanding of english, mom had fall in her room last night due to lay out of room.receptionist was great but unfortunately shes now left for better job, mom was made comfy so we was able to continue our break,3 nights a guest was shouting and banging doors which i reported to the male owner this morning he asked me if id reported this to night porter, what night porter? told him bout moms fall, seemed more concerned bout coach holiday guests so didnt really want to discuss my concerns,tbh thought he was coach driver cuss as i say id not seem anybody all weekend, staff were ok but lacked any coercion or leadership/training but if you pay peanuts what do you expect!!!

Thank you very much for your review and I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. At the time of booking you requested one single room and one double room on the first floor and were in fact allocated two double rooms (one with a free sea view upgrade), both rooms were approximately 20 metres from our lift. I am sorry that you found items of cutlery missing but I am sure one of our waiters would have been happy to address this for you and had you preferred to have you water in a jug as opposed to the glass provided this would also have not been a problem. I would also like to clarify that all our food is freshly prepared on site and at no times in the past 25yrs have we ever provided guests with ‘box meals’.
Finally I would also like to thank you for your kind comments regarding our entertainment and meals 'being good all nights'
