“Only stay here if you play golf - I don't”

Stayed here for a big exhibition in Aberdeen & the place is really not set up for that kind of visitor. The restaurant stopped serving at 7.30 (with no compromise when we asked for a 20 minute extension) and there was no breakfast at 7 a.m when we set off. The "villas" are basically semi-detached bog standard houses but are fine.

“Comfortable, but not of great quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Stayed in a second floor unit with 2 bedrooms and two single beds and a dresser in each room. one bathroom in each bedroom. Beds were on the edge of being uncomfortable (thin mattress and hard foundation) and seemed a bit narrower than I remember from a single bed (maybe EU size is a bit smaller than US?). Bedding was clean, duvet was comfortable. Bedrooms were small and one closet was reduced in width and depth due to hot water heater and plumbing.

Bathroom....clean and big...but empty. No counterspace, no storage for toilettries, no hook upon which to dry a wet towel (rack of dry towels did not have room to accomodate one hanging to dry...let alone 2 if sharing the room). With all the room, they could have put in a bathtub. Instead they used small shower enclosures...no room to bend over and scrub your feet, lol....I HATE that.

Units are new, very clean, and pretty well appointed with small washing machine, fridge, stove, toaster, small amount of silverware, few place settings of china/cups. Two comfortable couches, TV, DVD, wireless LAN. Lighting in common areas was not good (weak recessed lighting).

While they are clean and comfortable, they will not age well. As an earlier review stated, everywhere you look, you can see the corners that were cut. Cheap fixtures, cheap furniture, quick and shoddy construction. As an example, the two tile walls in the shower were pulling away from each other and leaving a gap between the caulk and the walls...will flood and rot).

Used the restaurant at the golf club one night.....if you like chips, you'll be happy (since they are served with every item on the menu...including lasagna??????), if not, go into town where there are some nice places to eat. Had breakfast one morning, it was fine.

“Perfect holiday base”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011

Very clean and up to date furnishings, we loved this villa. There were 3 twin rooms on the ground floor, one with en suite, and the living, dining, kitchen and balcony was on the first floor. Very convenient for our sightseeing and for the M&S Simply Food a few miles down the road, we had the perfect self catering holiday. We will be back
Thank you

“Great Deeside base.”

Stayed at Inchmarlo for 2 nights in 2 bed lodge during a trip with family to Aboyne Highland games. Accommodation was superb with comfy beds, fully equipped living/cooking areas. Property was exceptionally clean and bedlinen and towels were lovely and fresh.

We cooked in the property on the first night and found that it had all the kitchen equipment which we needed (there was no dishwasher however it really wasn't req'd) We ate in the restaurant on the second night and were very pleased with the meals - quality and cost were excellent.

All in all - will return at the next opportunity and would highly recommend for a relaxing break to Deeside.

“A hidden gem in Deeside”

I was amazed at the previous report – I have recently returned from a four night stay with a group of 27 people to celebrate a ‘big’ birthday and we would be hard pushed to find any fault with Inchmarlo. We had 6 villa’s to accommodate our party and were looked after exceptionally well. We had a meal arranged for us in the clubhouse on the Saturday evening and we ate in the restaurant on the Sunday and Monday. The staff were excellent, attentive and friendly and the food wonderful. The villa’s are spacious, comfortable and very well equipped - as we knew that the accommodation is self catering, we took our own dishwasher tablets with us!! Some of our party are golfers and took advantage of playing on the course and using the driving range, they had absolutely no complaints, and intent to return in the near future. Thank you and well done Inchmarlo!
