A very friendly B&B - owners met us with coffee and cake when we arrived.
We had booked as a group and took over all three rooms. We also had the use of a comfortable sitting room. The double bedroom and one twin have ensuite, the other twin has its own (large) shower room across the hall.
Good selection of fresh fruit, cereals and all the cooked breakfast options - as well as excellent porridge.
Nice touches including whisky and sherry in the rooms, internet access (a PC for guests as well as wireless), and a drying room if you needed it. Within walking distance of shops, restaurants etc in Banchory. Would stay here again.

What made this B and B just that cut above the usual was the attention to the kind of details that make the difference.
The owners had just gone that extra mile both with the facilities in the room and with the breakfast. No grotty pre-packed marmalade and catering packs of butter on the table - but real linen napkins, fresh strawberries and raspberries with the cereal, free range eggs, and a selection of toast made from real bread which had been sliced off a real loaf!

We arrived late on a Friday evening at The Old West Manse after a long journey and were delighted with what we found.
Carol and Keith have created accommodation of the very highest standard and look after their guests in an attentive and helpful but not overbearing manner.
The area around Banchory looks to us as if it needs further exploration. The Old West Manse would provide the perfect base.

Although late arriving the landlady waited in for me to arrive.

The room and bathroom was very clean and tidy on arrival and kept clean including clean towels each day by the landlady.

A cooked scottish breakfast each morning was promptly served and after a request the toast was delivered after the cooked breakfast as I prefered to eat it after the cooked breakfast.

Complimentary sherry and whisky was to my surprise provided and also refilled each day.

I would recommend for anybody to stay there, I hope to again.
