“Well on track to revival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This hotel used to be one of my favourites until it was taken over by people who really destroyed over night a beautiful and well run hotel (see earlier review). Well with a new company for just over a year now I ventured back last weekend and it is in my opinion well on track to revival. Friendly and warm atmosphere, spotless rooms, excellent selection in room, good breakfast and friendly and unpretentious staff - felt well run again. I didn't eat in the hotel but it was very popular with locals. We had stayed at the 4 star Pittodrie House the weekend before and nice location but not a patch on this place that was run by a chain and it showed. I am really pleased that this beautful place is back on the hospitality map again. We will be back again soon and I would now have no hesitation to recommend it under the new team based on my experience

Room Tip: We stayed in Crathes Room its one of the nicest

“A completely relaxed couple of nights...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

What a transformation! Having stayed before a few years ago I have witnessed a massive improvement in the hotels ambiance. I love to just chill out in the evenings with a malt in hand and at Raemoir I could do this in total comfort. The next time i want to get away and have time to myself I know ill choose Raemoir again. The Staff were spot on - friendly but not too much and not afarid to offer any help. To finish I cant say enough about the food! Two rosettes well earned!

“Wouldn't go anywhere else!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011

Thought it time to share the secret of Roayl Deeside. After having stayed here before I thought I would give the hotel a second chance. I could not believe the difference in only a year.

From entering through the gatepost you can tell that work had been done! As we drove up the drive all signs were looking better than the last time we were here.

As soon as we entered, the groundfloor has been completely revamped but retaining what was still beutiful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the owner carried my bags to my room. Neil explained just what he took on only a year ago this month!

The signs of improvement were brilliant and we were looking forward to dinner!
The restaurant at Raemoir was back in the Oval Ballroom as it had been some years ago. The menu is a 4 course dinner inclusive of tea and coffee, the choice was excellent even for my vegetarian wife!

Breakfast was very relaxed and as we were in no hurry we took to the lounge and had a read of the papers.

I could not fault the hotel, the staff or the food we will be back, thanks to all at Raemoir for making our stay so wonderful!!!!

Lovely hotel. Full of charm and character. Staff very friendly. Food outstanding. Got the trip on a summer break deal which made it great value. Will definitely be back!

“Character Hotel with a friendly welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

Although I had visited this hotel many years ago when I lived in Aberdeen this was the first time I had stayed overnight in the hotel. We booked the hotel for four nights. The hotel is situated in its own grounds and was a family home many years ago.
We entered the hotel and were greeted warmly by the hotel manager who immediately made us feel welcomed. The two rooms we occupied were on the second floor and although in need of redecoration were full of character with nooks and crannies everywhere. One of the most comfy beds I have slept in in any hotel!! The view from the bedroom on to the grounds was quite beautiful even in the rain! The bathroom was fresh although the shower was a little low for my husband. We had informed the manager that three of our party were vegetarians and the chef kindly catered for us. The breakfast was good although portions were small but the mushrooms on brioche toast were delicious as was the lovely homemade jam and marmalade. We had dinner in the hotel on one evening - the food was very good but for the vegetarians in the party a little overpriced at £40 per head which with two bottles of wine came to approximately £300 for 6 people.
The hotel has recently been taken over and the new owners are in the process of redecorating and upgrading the accommodation. I am aware that some of the bedrooms have already been completed. All the staff we met on our short stay were friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay there again.
I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to any traveller to Aberdeen or Banchory whether for business or leisure.
