I stayed at the Ryles Arms on January 3, 2012 during my first trip to England. After a day of visiting little villages and driving through the surrounding hills, my boyfriend and I stopped here for the night. We ate dinner in the lounge at a comfortable fireside table. The portions were huge and the meal was delicious. Afterward, we just hung out at the bar, chatting with locals. When it was time to close up, we retreated to our room in the top of a converted barn. The suite was very modern with a full kitchen and TV area. It was a chilly night but the bed was perfectly cozy. In the morning, we had a hot breakfast in the restaurant before hitting the road again. I would highly recommend a stop here to anyone traveling through the area. Even if my boyfriend had not known one of the Ryles Arms' employees, I would have loved to visit this place. Warm atmosphere, friendly service, home cooked food, and comfortable accommodations. I would especially recommend taking American visitors here for a nice, quiet night.
