This place is a little bit of heaven! The manager Stuart looked after us from start to finish and Sam, Pablo and Mark did a fine job too. We got upgraded to a four poster bed room which was out of this world. The actual building itslef is so beautiful and set in idyllic grounds. The dinner and afternoon tea we had was 5star rated. To add to this the health spa is in the old church!!! Amazing place and a beautiful get away :-)

This is a lovely old house, set in a wonderful landscape. We only stayed one night and it was snowing, so we have nothing to report on the golf course.
The rooms are lovely, full of character and the bathrooms are roomy and well equipped.
The staff are well trained, efficient and helpful.
The food in the bar is good value for money, bit predictable, but with some nice touches ( try the local cheeses, excellent value and interesting)
If you would like to stay somewhere a little way off the beaten track, and in season, play some golf, then well worth a visit
One really irritating thing that I would BEG them to stop is the automatic installation of the damn Babylon search bar and the auto switching of your home page as soon as you log on to the ( paid for) internet, a real negative on an otherwise positive experience.

We decided to go here as it was in the right area and there was an offer on. We selected to go dinner, bed & breakfast. I must say that the deal was very generous - the hotel was gorgeous and in a beautiful location. It's surrounded by a golf course, and although I'm not a fan of golf courses, it was very nice anyway. We had a room in the newer part of the hotel, which was fine and comfortable, although the walls were a bit thin. Very clean & all facilities were there, although a bit of decoration & maintenance required - some parts are a little tired.
We didn't meet a single member of staff who wasn't courteous and polite - they all seemed keen to help, which we haven't seen everywhere we've been! The dinner was absolutely fantastic - really good quality 3 course meal. Self-serve breakfast was also really good - plenty of choice & quantity available.
The pool & sauna area was lovely - not a pool for swimming in really, but good to relax in. We didn't use the gym.
Altogether, we found it difficult to fault this place and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. Although we got it on a special deal, I would be happy to pay full price to stay here.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting but our room was tired and needed updating - especially the bathroom. We only stayed one night. The choice of breakfast was extremely good and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great facilities (pool and gym). We managed to book whilst the hotel was offering a discount - I would not be prepared to book if the rooms were full price (over £100).
