“A perfect little getaway hotel, with a great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

We cannot recommend the Bodfor enough, there are not many places that tick all the boxes when we go away, there is always something not quite right, but not at the Bodfor, it was a perfect 5 night stay

From the warm welcome we received when we arrived weary after a long journey, to the first impressions of the very impressive room to the little personal touches here and there it all added up to make an excellent trip away.

We had the Pedwar suite, that was decorated beautifully and very well laid out, with a very large and comfy king bed with crisp linen and soft pillows, a comfy soft leather sofa to relax on in front of the fire place to watch a DVD on the flat screen tv, it also had a nice little table and chairs to sit in the massive bay windows and soak up and watch the equally lovely sea view whilst having a glass of wine or a coffee that we could make in our small kitchinette area with a seperate sink and fridge and all the coffe making things you could need. The bathroom was as big as most other bedrooms in other hotels, with an amazing rolltop bath that you could swim laps in it was that big and a walk in shower that had a shower head that felt like you were standing under a warm waterfall... in all the room was great.

The Bodfor also has a lounge that guests can use with access to a well stocked DVD collection and books and records. The only very small drawback was that they no longer served breakfast or room service in the hotel but instead you go to the Seabreeze 20 metres down the road. The Seabreeze breakfast was great no compliants here (in fact we ate one evening in the same restaurant and had an amazing meal, the best in Aberdovey, the ribeye steak was the best ive ever had... and Ive had alot of ribeyes in my time) but to get your moneys worth for £10 per head for breakfast you had to have the works, not just a coffee and a slice of toast that my partner likes, so we decided to prepare our own in our kitchentte area, but is saying this The owners tell us that they are putting in a self service scully area shortly where guests can do this themselves, which would be a nice touch.

The only other very small issue which isnt any relfection on the hotel at all, but rather the nature of an old building is the noise that some other guests make can be heard very easily at times, especially when they are enjoying the comfy beds!!!!!

Anyway as I said at the beginning the Bodfor ticks all the boxes. If you are looking for a special break away from it all, with a price that matches, remember that in life you do generally get what you pay for, this is true with the Bodfor and then some!!!!

“Beautiful accommodation in possibly the friendliest town in the UK!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 February 2011

After reviewing the property online before booking, we weren't in the least disappointed with our suite (Dau). Fabulous view, beautiful interior design and furnishings, great bathroom with sumptous roll top bath, extremely comfortable bed, comfy leather sofa, handy little kitchenette with fridge, sink, kettle, tea, coffee etc. Easy/free parking. Great night's sleep :-)

Just a few VERY minor things that prevented us rating the room as excellent;
- would have expected a more modern, plasma TV
- one of the ceiling lights in the bathroom was hanging loose
- the shower was on the small side
- no WiFi

The owner, Gareth, was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Although at first disappointed that breakfast was served at another establishment a few doors down, we actually couldn't fault it once we tried it. It's so close it's really no trouble and the Sea Breeze restaurant was a real treat to visit. Fab breakfast (homemade porridge, cereal or fruit, followed by traditional welsh cooked breakfast, fresh coffee and toast) and great service. Good value at £10/head. Enjoyed it so much we booked in for evening meal on the Saturday and were really impressed with everything. Had 3 courses, plus wine for just under £65. Owner there very friendly and welcoming too.

We took a lovely walk down the beach from the front of the hotel to the next town, which took about 2 hours, then got a cab back (£6.50), would have taken the train but it was a 90 minute wait unfortunately. Even the cab driver was friendly! Maybe we spend too much time in cities but it's really refreshing to meet genuinely friendly people when you're away!

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Aberdovey and our two nights at Llety Bodfor and will definitely be returning, hopefully in the summertime so we can spend longer on the beach.

“Lovely perfect weekend away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2011

What a lovely location both in terms of view and the town. We booked a room that overlooked the sea (I think all the rooms do overlook the sea but didn't visit them all!). Our room had a fourposter bed, with a little seating area and all the mod cons needed in a room for a weekend break. The en-suite was small but perfectly formed.

Breakfasts in the morning were great and lots of papers to read and there was a little shop attached to the hotel, that sold local produce, arts and crafts - some lovely stuff. There is easy parking across the road from the hotel and there are vouchers from the hotel so you can park for free. It really is very close to the hotel literally over the road.

The town had two lovely places to eat that the hotel had recommended in advance of us coming and had booked for us. The food at these places was superb, just good traditional food done very well. We're from London and have been spoilt with some haute cuisine, but it was nice to have food that wasn't in fancy shapes on the plate, but tasted fantastic.

I highly recommend this hotel and am hoping to persuade my other half for another visit soon!

“Really enjoyable hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2010

We stayed in the self contained apartment, which consists of a kitchen/diner, bathroom, and bedroom. We hadn't realised that the apartment literally has no views of anything, but the hot sunny weather meant that during the day time we were out and about. The staff were helpful to a fault, but we were disturbed by the noise of foot steps in the shop on the Ground floor. Perhaps some carpeting might be in order? All in all, a lovely hotel, which we would recommend and definitely visit again.

“5 star comfort with 5 star service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2010

Having recently stayed at Llety Bodfor for the new year, we were very pleasantly surprised having read some recent trip advisor reviews. We found the staff very pleasant and eager to help . They were very keen to make suggestions and give advice with regards to eating out and places to visit. Our room was extremely well appointed with a huge comforable bed, crisp cotton bed linen and the hotel even provides a pillow menu!
The sitting / dining room was equally impressive but cosy - my husband was thrilled to discover his taste in LP's was very similar to the owner's!! The breakfast couldn't be faulted, cooked to order , with a great choice ... I loved all the Welsh touches, signs, notices etc! The location of the hotel is also something to write home about, overlooking the beautiful (and snowy, YES ,snowy !!!) beach. Ardderchog!
