We cannot recommend the Bodfor enough, there are not many places that tick all the boxes when we go away, there is always something not quite right, but not at the Bodfor, it was a perfect 5 night stay
From the warm welcome we received when we arrived weary after a long journey, to the first impressions of the very impressive room to the little personal touches here and there it all added up to make an excellent trip away.
We had the Pedwar suite, that was decorated beautifully and very well laid out, with a very large and comfy king bed with crisp linen and soft pillows, a comfy soft leather sofa to relax on in front of the fire place to watch a DVD on the flat screen tv, it also had a nice little table and chairs to sit in the massive bay windows and soak up and watch the equally lovely sea view whilst having a glass of wine or a coffee that we could make in our small kitchinette area with a seperate sink and fridge and all the coffe making things you could need. The bathroom was as big as most other bedrooms in other hotels, with an amazing rolltop bath that you could swim laps in it was that big and a walk in shower that had a shower head that felt like you were standing under a warm waterfall... in all the room was great.
The Bodfor also has a lounge that guests can use with access to a well stocked DVD collection and books and records. The only very small drawback was that they no longer served breakfast or room service in the hotel but instead you go to the Seabreeze 20 metres down the road. The Seabreeze breakfast was great no compliants here (in fact we ate one evening in the same restaurant and had an amazing meal, the best in Aberdovey, the ribeye steak was the best ive ever had... and Ive had alot of ribeyes in my time) but to get your moneys worth for £10 per head for breakfast you had to have the works, not just a coffee and a slice of toast that my partner likes, so we decided to prepare our own in our kitchentte area, but is saying this The owners tell us that they are putting in a self service scully area shortly where guests can do this themselves, which would be a nice touch.
The only other very small issue which isnt any relfection on the hotel at all, but rather the nature of an old building is the noise that some other guests make can be heard very easily at times, especially when they are enjoying the comfy beds!!!!!
Anyway as I said at the beginning the Bodfor ticks all the boxes. If you are looking for a special break away from it all, with a price that matches, remember that in life you do generally get what you pay for, this is true with the Bodfor and then some!!!!
