“This is true hospitality.”

Seldom did we feel so welcome. Barbara and Neville Hobbs are exemplary hosts; they treat their guests like they would like to be treated themselves when away. Everything is done to create a welcome and friendly atmosphere.
Situated in the Yorkshire-countryside this B&B has 4 guestrooms.
Our Blue Room was well furnished, crisp, clean and cosy. Barbara stocked the room with everything a guest/a friend could possibly wish for. Neville is a excellent cook who provides a traditional Yorkshire breakfast and really knows his way with baking cakes.
Barbara and Neville love the area where the live and have lots of suggestions how to spend your days in this beautifully rural part of England.
Quite unique these hosts and their B&B.

“The best B&B ever!”

Just returned from a 2 night break at The Old Vicarage! Chose to go there because of all the other great reviews and we weren't disappointed. Everything was ten out of ten: welcome, house, room, views, comfort, food, hosts...The attention to detail is stunning and you feel really spoiled by all the little extras: cake on arrival, chocolates in room every evening, bathrobes, lovely toiletries and a good bag to take home! We loved meeting the family and I loved meeting Stanley, the gorgeous labradoodle. We can't wait to go back and we have already been telling family and friends to book!

Room Tip: There are 4 individually decorated rooms -each with own personality and view - we were in the Blue R...

“The Jewel is still Sparkling.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

Had our first visit last year and could not wait to return. First visit was a new experience not quite sure what to expect but was excellent. Our return visit was all the more pleasurable as we were able to fully appreciate all that this excellent B&B has to offer. Our host Barbara and Neville were the perfect host, breakfast was excellent setting us up for our days walking, rooms were just as good as we remembered them with everything you could possibly need for the weekend and those special treats finished it off a treat. Hoping to return for a third time next year. This B&B really has to be experienced, if you are reading this review don't take our word for it. Go along and see for yourself, you will not be dissappointed.

“Excellent B&B with superb hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

We have just returned from a long weekend with friends at this B&B, we stayed in the Church View room and our friends in the "Room with a view". The Church view room is slightly smaller but both rooms have all facilities with en suite. Each room is was spotlessly clean, well furnished with large comfortable beds. The hosts, Neville and Barbara go that extra mile supplying fresh milk for the room, chocolates, biscuits and a decanter of port !

Breakfast was excellent using local produce all cooked to order and supplemented by a selection of fresh fruit and cereals.

Neville and Barbara have taken the best bits from other B&B's they have visited and go that extra mile to ensure your stay is an experience - delicious freshly baked cake on arrival with tea, repeated if you want everyday and as an added bonus they will pack up some cake for you to take out - You do not want to miss this as Neville,s cakes are truly delicious.

An excellent B&B, exceptional value, very good accommodation in old vicarage, great countryside and location with hosts that go that extra mile - not to be missed.

Room Tip: Book early

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

There's not much point in repeating what others clearly find to be first class accommodation, so I won't try.

I think what makes Toftly View so good is that not only do Mr and Mrs Hobbs try very hard to satisfy one's needs, but clearly the house and rooms have had a lot of investment, and the fixtures and fittings are all top quality.

A very quiet, very comfortable and pleasing experience. We hope to visit again soon.
