“Perfection!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2008

Apricot Lodge is a beautiful purpose-built guest accommodation. It is modern yet has character. The rooms have every facility, including bathrobes and bottled water.

Darran is a wonderful host. He produces consistently good breakfasts of local produce and is a mine of information on the locality. His speciality - the best teashops in Yorkshire, comes in very handy for days out.

It is to be highly recommended as is the lovely town of Pickering.

“Another fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2008

Our second visit to Apricot Lodge. Thanks to Sarah and Darran we spent another three fantastic nights enjoying their wonderful hospitality. Just nothing is too much trouble for them. Darran is just such a wonderful walking ( or should I say running , visit and you will see why. ) encyclopaedia of local and not so local information. This certainly wont be our last trip to see them.

“The world's best Bed and Breakfast!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2007

When you book a bed and breakfast you often wonder what it will be like, with Apricot Lodge I can guarentee you don't need to worry as this B&B is simply fantastic. The hosts, Darren and Sarah, are really freindly and a warm welcome awaits. I have stayed there 3 times in 2007 and once in 2006 and hope to continue staying. The rooms are all of 5 star standard and are all ensuite. There is even a complimentry newspaper. The breakfast is excellent too with a good choice ranging from the full english to light bites. A good supply of tea is also provided!
The location is easy to find and an ideal base for those wanting to explore the area. York is also within a decent travelling distance. A trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is not to be missed!!!

To sum up this B&B is brilliant, 5 star and can't be beaten. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have along with the other reviewers on this page.

“Absolutely fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2007

My wife and I stayed for a week at this fantastic B & B. Our hosts Darran and Sarah could not have been more helpful as to where to eat, places of interest etc.
The accommodation was very comfortable and the rooms were decorated to a high standard. Tea and coffee in the bedroom were always replaced on a daily basis and there was extra milk kept in a fridge at reception for your use.
The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice and cooked to perfection.
We have stayed in lots of B & B's all over the UK and we rate this as one of the best. We know it's 5 Diamonds but it should be Gold Award instead of Silver.
We will definitely return and if you go you won't regret it!
