“This lovely hotel has it all!”

We chose this hotel for it's earlier rave reviews and would like to add our recommendations because this hotel has it all! Set in a superb location for the town, beach, coastal path and many more attractions within easy reach either by car or local bus service. Mark and Nicole are very warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable hosts. We booked a Superior room with a sea view which more than lived up to expectations. The room and ensuite were spotlessly clean (the cleanest we have ever stayed in) and was thoroughly cleaned daily. We had a peek in the standard rooms unoccupied and these were of the same high standard overlooking the very pretty garden which would have been lovely to sit outside of a warm summer's evening with a drink, but not in October!
Nicole's full Welsh breakfasts were excellent and large enough to see us through a day's walking. I fancied a change and opted for the Continental, once you have tried one of these you will be hooked!
Mark and Nicole, your hotel deserves more than the two stars it has b
een awarded and we would recommend it to anyone looking for quality accommodation with a personal touch. We couldn't possibly see and do everything we wanted to during our 4 night stay so we look forward to seeing you sometime in 2012.

from Michele & Nigel, Bicester, Oxon

Room Tip: If you want a bit more space opt for a Superior room on the top floor

“really comfortable and enjoyable stay.”

Our first time at the Woodlands and have no hesitation in taking time to write this review. We were warmly welcomed by Nichole while our bags were taken to the room which was at the top of the house at the front with a great sea view .First impressions were very good as the room and bathroom were absolutely spotless and very comfortable.
A good start to the day is always important and the excellent breakfast really sets you up [no need for lunch after the full Welsh!].
The Woodlands is also only a short walk down the hill into Saundersfoot so no need to take the car
In short couldn't fault it for the price; would thoroughly recommend a stay here and will be returning when the opportunity arises

Room Tip: superior room with sea view worth the extra

We have stayed three times since Mark and Nicole started running the hotel and always find our stay most conducive. Particularly appealing is the friendly, personal touch they apply to everything, from the very first welcome onwards. Nicole's cooking is of a particularly high standard; the home-baked continental breakfast is well worth a try. Mark keeps the garden beautifully maintained. The pets - two dogs and a cat - also keep the guests highly amused. The free car parking is a bonus. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed here in 2010 and returned again this year as The Woodlands is just such a lovely place to chill out in. Mark and Nicole are fantastic hosts very friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble for them. The breakfast is lush especially the bacon and mushrooms there is so much choice and its a good start to the day. We cant wait to return in 2012. Lots of places to visit close by and some excellent walks a must place to stay. Thanks guys for a fab wk xx Tracey and Jo :0)
