“Great Hotel for a short break!”

Arrived last minute with my daughter who is a toddler, picked the first place we found and i am so glad it was the Gower Hotel!
The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and helpful.
There is a lift which is a huge help with luggage and a pram. The room was huge, clean and very comfortable! I stayed in a room overlooking the road and it was quite load at night but i am a very light sleeper so some people may not be affected by this. The bathroom was modern and clean. The bath wasn't the warmest, but good enough to bath in!
Breakfast was AMAZING!! I wish that i had had my dinner there too! Will defiantly go back!!

“Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Gower Hotel and would definitely return. Had bb and evening meal. The food was fantastic, particularly the a la carte evening meals and I have to say it was the best we have ever tasted! The staff were very friendly, particularly Andy who was ever present, always had a smile on his face and just never slept! The room (no 31) was great and met all our requirements. Great atmosphere in the bar with a 'happy hour' from 4-7 every day. Just can't understand why anyone would find fault with the place, we certainly can't. The only minor criticism would be the lane to the car park at the rear which could do with being resurfaced (local council take note) but other than that we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel for any duration. Pity about the weather.

“Well Pleased”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Spent 2 night at the Gower, BB & evening meal. Room as on the small side but clean and comfy. There was a teasmade - a must for me - plus hairdrier.
The location was central and had a car park at rear of hotel. But it was a bit difficult to locate - no signs.
The Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The Orangery Restaurant was amazing. Their Breakfasts were great but dinners were "a la carte" as described in their adverts. No kidding best food we experienced ever! The two young ladies who served us were a delight too.
Really enjoyed our stay, and as a bonus we had terrific weather too.

“Good Location - Tiny Room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

My wife and I have today returned from 2 days at the Gower Hotel, having stayed in Room 33.

Pro's; Location was close to all the attractions, hotel staff were friendly, breakfast food quality was good and piping hot, public area furnishings were nice, the bar had a good atmosphere, room was clean.

Cons; Difficult to find the lane for the car park behind the hotel (gravel with pot-holes in the approach lane could really do with being resurfaced), room was very small and furniture / decor was dated, the mattress wasn't very comfortable, the shower water pressure was poor - patience required!

I travel a lot with my work (and normally stay in 4/5 star hotels) so I don't know if I've been spoilt and my expectations were too high for a 3 Star Hotel... but this is my opinion of the Gower Hotel.
