“Excellent, Friendly and efficient Management!!!”

Just returned from our 2nd stay at Adamo Stirling, we were slightly apprehensive having read the recent reviews, however, there was no reason to. The only down side which we can see is that you have to check in / out in the bar area which could be a bit off putting for some people. Richard and Lisa are very welcoming and explained about the revamped restaurant, we decided not to eat in the restaurant for dinner, but we did enjoy breakfast on both days, once in the restaurant and the other day in our room. Hotel is excellently located for all bars, shops and restaurants that Stirling has to offer. The hotel also has a mini bus [taxi] which Richard kindly gave us a lift into the middle of town. Rooms are a wee bit tired and could do with a little bit of TLC, the bathroom had also a couple of broken tiles, but these are only minor faults. Hopefully, with both Richard and Lisa at the helm, the Adamo Stirling will become the place to be in Stirling and we wish them both lots of luck.

“Mootastic :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Well I'm happy to say that reopening the bank as a steak restraunt was a brilliant idea. Having eaten there before and after the relaunch i was amazed at the turn around. Not only were we greeted with a welcoming smile by the staff, they also made every effort to ensure we had a lovely time. Which we did. However my main reason for writing this review is to say how wonderful our dinner was. The menu it's self makes it hard to decide on what to eat as it all sounds so tasty. I myself went for the calamari for starter, cooked brilliantly and covered in crispy bater, they were awesome :) my friend went for the ribs which also looked delicious. Of when it came ti the main course we both went for steak and I'm so glad I did, not only was it cooked to meet my taste perfectly, it's was also massive and so tender. For dessert I went for one of their special sundaes. Filled with chocolate, caramel and my favourite honeycomb chucks. Just the right way to end a very enjoyable meal. From the staff to the food I cannot credit this place enough. Do not let old reviews or past experience stop you from trying this place, it's had a major turn around. The food is great, the staff are lovely and the price you pay for it is very good value. I will definately be back :)

“In dire need of help”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

We went for a meal on Saturday 3rd Dec.The service was shockingly bad considering the place was half empty and had an abundance of staff. We ordered cocktails on arrival and they didn't make an appearance til we had our starters at least 40 minutes later. They weren"t particularly worth waiting for either. The food itself was ok, nothing to write home about.Poor service continued during our meal eg had to ask staff to remove used plates and glasses. The loud and irritating piano playing spurred us in to leaving as fast as we could. Will not be back. Will be surprised if this restaurant remains open at this rate unless the owners address issues with the service.

“Terible, Unprofessional, couldn't of been worse!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Went in with my partner for dinner, after a days xmas shopping we dicided to opt for the new steak menu, we each ordered a simple steak but we didn't know what an Entrocote or Popseye was and apparently neither did the manager when we asked, they didn't even have the brains to ask the chef or check it on goodle which i assume the manager would of had on the computer he spent so much time standing on!! when the food Eventualy arrived we weren't offered any ketchups mayo or mustards, althought the steaks were fab we felt liked once we had been given our food the staff didn't want to chat to us again as i sat with an empty wine glass for a while before i had to grab the attention of the waiting staff. We decided we wouldn't risk negotiating ordering a dessert and asked for the bill which came with us being charged for almost double what we ordered!!!! The staff were undertrained, uninterested and completly lackluster!!! We didn't bother asking to complain to the General Manager as he obviously can't oraganise a panic in a plane crash never mind a hotel! We have had a good meal at the and drinks at the Bridge of Allen sister restaurant, think the management here need to re think their career choice, this beautiful building is being run by incompitant idiots! WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!!

“Avoid at all costs - terrible, terrible, terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Hotel is next to a busy roundabout. Was given room facing roundabout, so all night traffic noise. Digital TV system constantly failed, couldn't watch even one of the major channels. Had to ask for wi-fi code, rather than being offered it. Shouldn't have bothered, as wi-fi connection in the room was up and down constantly. Room was directly above bar area, loud music pumping up through the floor. Complain at 11pm, told music would end "soon". Complained again at midday, was told music would end at 12.15am. Manager offered to turn it down int he meantime. Returned to room, music had been turned back up again. Walls between rooms were paper thin, could have conversations of people in adjoining room when they got in at 1am. Finally got to sleep after 1am. Woken at 5am by couple next door having sex for next hour. Don't mind them having sex, but wanted to sleep myself, not listening to their moans, groans and their bed thumping against adjoining wall. As a result, got less than four hours of sleep. Got up for breakfast - chef burned the bacon. This is Scotland, if you can't fry or grill bacon without burning, you shouldn't work in a kitchen. When I checked out, I detailed all my complaints. Was told these would be "passed on to the general manager" Yeah. Right. No complaints form available, no discount offered, nothing. Feeble, lacklustre, under-staffed. Quite the worst night's sleep I've ever had in Scotland, vastly overpriced. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Room Tip: Want a good room? Go to another hotel.
