Hotel is next to a busy roundabout. Was given room facing roundabout, so all night traffic noise. Digital TV system constantly failed, couldn't watch even one of the major channels. Had to ask for wi-fi code, rather than being offered it. Shouldn't have bothered, as wi-fi connection in the room was up and down constantly. Room was directly above bar area, loud music pumping up through the floor. Complain at 11pm, told music would end "soon". Complained again at midday, was told music would end at 12.15am. Manager offered to turn it down int he meantime. Returned to room, music had been turned back up again. Walls between rooms were paper thin, could have conversations of people in adjoining room when they got in at 1am. Finally got to sleep after 1am. Woken at 5am by couple next door having sex for next hour. Don't mind them having sex, but wanted to sleep myself, not listening to their moans, groans and their bed thumping against adjoining wall. As a result, got less than four hours of sleep. Got up for breakfast - chef burned the bacon. This is Scotland, if you can't fry or grill bacon without burning, you shouldn't work in a kitchen. When I checked out, I detailed all my complaints. Was told these would be "passed on to the general manager" Yeah. Right. No complaints form available, no discount offered, nothing. Feeble, lacklustre, under-staffed. Quite the worst night's sleep I've ever had in Scotland, vastly overpriced. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
