“Just the job”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2008

Stayed here the night before we flew from Gatwick. We were very late courtesy of the M11 and M25 but a phone call to the B&B put my mind at rest as were given the key code to access the hotel.

You cannot fault the location for Gatwick, yet it is situated on a quiet residential street with plenty of off road parking. You can opt for either en suite or shared bathroom. We booked an en suite and were very happy. Our room was very clean with a good sized comfy bed. There was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was of a good size with a great shower.

We left too early to have breakfast so I cannot comment upon that, but we had a late meal at the Wetherspoons pub which was no more than a five minute walk away.

Taxi to Gatwick was £5, job done!

“Great B & B”

Staith house was a wonderful place to stay before our flight to Gatwick. It was a short walk from the Horley train station. We were given a key code for the door and let ourselves in. The house is quiet and clean, located in a pleasant residential neighborhood. Beds are comfortable. The breakfast area was all set up in the morning (by 6 am) with a selection of yogurts, cereal, juices, etc. In the morning we took a taxi to Gatwick (5 pounds) and took less than 10 minutes. I would stay here again.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, location, charm.
  • Disliked — Breakfast included no hot food.

“Very Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient. Excellent”

My Husband and I shared a twin room for one night before flying out of Gatwick. I booked this hotel after reading other on line comments,
and believe me you will not be disappointed. Until we arrived I did not know that the hotel had changed ownership, but we were met by a very friendly and helpful lady, who was not the new owner. We were shown our room which was spotless, with kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, biscuits and sweets. The beds were very comfortable and the linen crisp and clean. The bathroom was opposite the bedroom,
and was absolutely pristine and the shower was hot. Breakfast was a do it yourself of fruit, toast, croissants, yoghurt with kettle for coffee etc. We did not see another soul all the time we we there, and
were trusted to do our own thing. All in all a very pleasant start to
our holiday. Would highly recommend Staith House.

  • Liked — Very clean and comfortable, Also very convenient for Gatwick Airport
  • Disliked — Bathroom opposite the bedroom, not en suite, but for one night it did not really matter

“Makes Gatwick Bearable”

Great house in a quaint little English town that just happens to be around the corner from Gatwick Airport. Tina was a very friendly and gracious hostess, she even trusted us to be alone in the house until we needed to be at the airport. Very impressed! Very reasonably priced too! Only a 2 minute walk from Horley Train station where you can get into Central London in 45 minutes for half the price of taking the train from the airport itself. I will definitely stay here again when passing through London.

we are a family of 4 with 2 boys aged 10 and 12 .we booked this guest house/ hotel with little knowledge of the area .
it was very well located for the airport and the town
the owners are warm and friendly and the hotel clean with spacious rooms even though we were unable to sample a proper breakfast because of our flight time arrangements a variety of cereals ,pastries, yogurts ,fruit ,juices and drinks were made available to us in the dining area.
on site parking was right next to the property and enclosed from the road

if we travel from gatwick again we will be staying here
