Booked through Booking.com. The hotel pre charged my card without my presence. I arrived at hotel and they wanted to keep my card details, expiry date of the card and the 3 digit code at the back of the card. The managers wife said they keep it in a file. I asked where they would lock it away and why they would need my details as I had already paid. I started crossing it out as they wanted my signature on the same page as my card details. The manager snatched the paper out of my hand and raised his voiced at me. The wife then showed me a large amount of the other paperwork and there were numerous card numbers, names, addresses and signatures of other customers. i was shocked that so many people gave their personal details willingly and on hard copy. they refused to give me the room that I paid for unless I give them all my bank details again. Then they threatened me with the police. So i went outside to call the police and left my friend inside. All of a sudden i heard raising voices and the managers son was threatining my friend with violence and because its an indian restaurant and bar, the managers son had friends and they all approached my friend with bottles and kept invading his space until he left the premises. The managers wife after some time gave my refund whilst the manager was still yelling not to. They were very adamant they wanted my card details. I spoke to another customer on the way out and they took his details as well. The place stank of indian food. The owners are unreasonable and couldnt understand why I didnt want to leave my personal details with them. The fact they willingly showed me details of previous customers was worrying. I have never written a bad review before as I usually make a complaint to the manager and they will apologise and resolve it. But this hotel was resorting to violence with the friends who were hanging around in the bar. I was very scared as a girl and at 2230 at night. I'm glad I had someone with me. They don't protect your data under the data protection act. I was left with no room but thankfully laterooms.com gave me a room at the thistle for the same price with more proffesionalism and I was reassured with my personal details. Booking.com does not obliterate any of your card details on paper. Also the customer I spoke to outside was slightly worried as they took his card details down because apparently his room had cracked walls and things were missing so he thought he might get charged.

I booked the room on the phone with a lady they took the card details and said they payment will be taken when you come on 4 March 11 and your room is booked, and we will give you the recepit at that time when you arrive, I asked them to e-mail me the booking details but they said we do not e-mail any thing. When I reached there at mid night, a man opened the door and the first thing he said was that you have not paid as your card details are not working, so do not have a room for you. I told him that i am suppose to pay when I reach here, I asked him that you could have called me as you have my number and confirm if you wanted the payment earlier, but he became very rude and abusive and said that we do not ring anybody, and told me to leave in the middle of night, so please DO NOT STAY THERE.

I have stayed in 3rd world accomodation better than this . Where do I begin, smelly , dirty, cold, clientele in the bar dubious, corridors smelled of smoke and food, paper peeling off the walls. Owner is the rudest most horrible individual I have ever come accross in a hotel. I had a serious traumatic travel emergency the morning of my departure and he wouldn't allow me use the phone or internet because it 'would cost him money'. Please don't believe any comments to the contrary this place is dire. Also its a good 25 pounds in a taxi from heathrow so save your money, pay a bit extra and stay nearer the airport.

what i thought was going to be a value for money experience was in fact an adventure on not sleeping as though the room was basic and warm there was no possible way you could sleep i have never had a matress that just changes shape and texture and is sooooo uncumfortable i didnt expect wonders but a good nights sleep was not possible i will never stay here again
