Booked this as a 'stop-over' on our journey from the Midlands to Edinburgh.

This is a newly refurbished hotel and has changed it's name to The Otter.

The new owner is taking great pains to transform this hotel as I imagine it was quite shabby and 'run down' before the refurb.

Overall the service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Lovely tasteful decor and furniture.

Excellent value for money!

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

we just stumbled upon the wheatside as we took the a68 road to scotland,what alovely little place to stay, relaxed, informal with a great sense of genuine care for the customer. we will be back..........
