stayed at the Carlton Lodge for one night in February while visiting southport theatre. Christine was very welcoming and friendly. The room was warm and clean with little extras that make your stay easier, tv,hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities, shampoo and shower gel etc.
Breakfast was cooked to order with various options available on the menu, it came with a very large pot of tea or coffee and proper napkins not the paper type you sometimes get.
This is a traditional guest house with a good location and did not dissapoint.

i was recommend this place to stay while i was in southport. i was told is was clean, good value for money and friendly service. the carlton lodge was all of these. on arrival the owner was very friendly and i was greeted with open arms. i was then taken up to my room. the room was of good size, a nice double bed and a bathroom and shower. the bed was comfortable. it had tea and coffee facilities and a tv with plenty of channels. the room was very comfortable. i cant prances this place enough. there was a wide range of choice available including a continental breakfast. if you are planning a trip to south port i was highly recommend this place to stay.

Comfortable room, great breakfast, excellent value. Highly recommended.

On arrival the owner was very friendly and took us up to our rooms. There was six of us staying and we all had different style rooms.
The two on the top floor were small but light the other room on the lower floor was dark and small looking out onto some bins.
I felt the rooms had a stale smell to them along with the towels smelling of stale smoke.
The location of the B & B was fantastic.
The breakfast was lovely fresh as you order.
I probably wouldn't stay here again but I feel I am more a hotel person, but as B & B's go I am sure this is a nice B & B.
