There are so many Pemier Inns I suppose their standard of accommodation and service should dictate what the "average" is. Trouble is so much of the hotel trade needs to try a lot harder to keep up with this chain which from my experience delivers consistantly high quality, clean, no frills accommodation staffed by well trained and cheerful staff.

Southport Central is no exception. Situated near the pier adjacent to the car park which serves the Vue Cinema and bowling alley together with the usual assortment of eateries such as Franky and Bennys etc.

We ate in the adjacent Brewers Fare - no frills food served by cheerful staff. We were lucky to get a £29 room deal which with breakfast adds up to £23 per person BandB. Which must bea reasonable deal in any ones book.

Stayed here as part of a work trip and found it a very good option.

It is just a little out of the town centre (£3 cab ride from the station) which makes it nice and quiet, but close to amenities. As usual with Premier Inns, the staff are lovely and the rooms clean and comfortable. It was a very cold night when I stayed, but the heating worked well and the room was toasty.

The hotel is located in a leisure complex so there are lots of chain restaurants within 2 minutes, but it was such a cold night, I didn't want to step outside. So I ate in the Brewers Fayre restaurant on site, where I had a very nice curry at a reasonable price - and served quickly despite the restaurant being absolutely packed.

What I liked:
* Clean, comfortable rooms with Freeview TV
* Friendly, helpful staff (and the proper old-style reception, rather than those new self-service stands some Premier Inns have now)
* Continental or cooked breakfast options - had a very nice continental breakfast.
* Quiet location, especially at the back of the hotel.
* Good location near the town centre.

What I didn't like:
* No 'pizza in your room' option on the menu - love this Premier Inn option when I've got work to get on with, but wasn't available at this branch

Overall, a very good place to stay. I'm sure I'll stay here again.

Hotel Good, Only downside was the selfish noisy (door banging) guest who appeared wait 20 minutes between slamming a door, beween 12midnight - 2 am.

Stayed last weekend for my birthday treat with my husband and little girl. Great location not too far to walk into town. Everything on the doorstep good variety of restaurants, cinema and bowling. Reception staff very nice. Had a problem with noise the first night, so asked to be moved to a room on the back for our second night which they accommodated no problem at all. Had breakfast both mornings in the Brewers Fayre which was very tasty, but quite hectic and kept running out of things which were replenished eventually! But then you expect these things and we had booked on a very good offer, if I had been paying more probably would have complained but it didn't bother us. We also ate here one evening, great value for money and my daughter could play in the soft play area afterwards with other children, so we could enjoy a drink in peace! All in all a great place to stay with kids everything you could want on the doorstep. Would also recommend Dunes Splashworld in Southport great family day out.
