“Perfect getaway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2010

Got there and were shown to our rooms which were big, spacious and cosy.
The breakfast was lovely and filling so didn't need to buy lunch each day.
The staff were lovely and always willing to answer any questions and were not fussed about making something other than the full breakfast if you wanted a bit less.
Perfect location for beach and also shopping in the town centre.
The music was loud on one of the nights we were there but it stopped after 1am which was not a problem as we were down there joining in anyway.
Didn't have any food there but from what we saw coming from the kitchen to other customers, it looked yummy !
We will be stopping there again without a doubt as it is perfect for couples who want to get away. It is okay for families with children but the loud music might be a problem.
Only one thing, there is no parking allowed outside the accommodation but there are two main car parks that charge 2.00 per day or 6.00 for the week which is very reasonable!!
Overall, an excellent stay and will highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for somewhere to stay !

“Great food and value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

Sea bass was big enough to share. We enjoyed our first visit that much that we went twice during our holiday to Tenby. Better value than the other options we tried while away. Calamari was the best ever and did I mention the sea bass? Wow! Wife had the crab salad and was just as impressed. Kids loved their pizzas. Keep it up Normandie.

“Tenby a jewel, shame about the Normandie”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

What a lovely place Tenby is, we'll defiantly return some day. We are an early middle aged middle class couple with two teenage sons and there was lots to keep us amused and entertained for a few days in the area. Great food and attractions close at hand too.
Oh woe the hotel Normandie.

Good things first. Great breakfast good food all round really. Very nice rooms. Central location.

Bad stuff, the list is endless, but a sample.

Quite expensive for what this place transpired to be.
Bad communication from the outset.
From the moment we arrived, indifferent, unfriendly and unprofessional staff and management.
Noisy (which we half expected).
This is not an hotel rather a restaurant/pub with rooms upstairs. There was no room service provided, no effort made whatsoever for resident guests bar as mentioned a good breakfast. It felt as if we were an inconvenience as opposed to paying guests.

We are a polite and respectable family, and throughout felt like something that one of the usual denizens of this dump had brought in on the sole of their shoe.

If your personal or family profile fits ours, don't go there.

“just what we needed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2009

we stayed as a group of 13 made up of adults and children for one night as we attended a christening the following morning. We had tried booking elsewhere but due to the number of us we had difficulties as many places were fully booked. Anyway, we decided despite the reviews of the noise issue we would give it a go and we were glad we did. The rooms were spotless and had been decorated recently, the bath towels were crisp and white and there were tea and coffee making facilities.

The rooms are above a busy bar but this did not bother us. We arrived around 7pm and decided to eat in the bar area with the children- nice choice of food and there was a children's menu. We left the bar area around 11pm as apparently this is when it gets busy which did concern us slightly! However our room was on the top floor and we could not hear a thing! (I did bring ear plugs just incase)

Breakfast was lovely, full english with a selection of juice, coffee and tea (cereals are provided as well) If you did not want a full english, alternatives were available at no extra cost of fuss!

We may stay here again but probably without the children as not really a suitable environment for them to be honest although this did not seem to bother them really!
