“Wonderfull and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

We stayed for 2 nights over the bank holiday for my birthday and had a great time. We did not go expecting a 5 * hotel and as such didn't have any unrealistic expectations,(i think some people see the pics of the lovely, large old building and expect something that at no point does this place claim to be!). We arrived on the same days as the owners new born baby came home and even with what would have been a valid excuse for things being chaotic (and when i brought my kids home ,chaotic, was un understatement lol) we were always met with friendliness and cheerfulness. The breakfasts were lovely and the staff very helpfull. The rooms were not high end but for the price and the fact that it advertises it's self as a budget b+b, i was not expecting the ritz! What we had was cheep and cheerfull and clean, couldn't really ask for more. The location was stunning and i could see the see from my window, a short walk into town and to the beach so perfect.
All in all we had a wonderfull stay with genuine, friendly people and we will definatly be going again(in fact i'm trying to convince the hubby that another trip without the kids before the Christmas stresses begin is a relly good idea lol.

Thankyou ever so much for your kind review. Your words regarding expectations are so true. We ask people to check our own website if they originally found us through a tourist site so they know exactly what facilities we provide. We find it quite galling when the small minority moan when they expect TV and trouser press at such budget prices!
Thankyou once again and we look forward to seeing again soon. (Iestyn sends his regards!)

“Do not be fooled this place is the pits”

Myself , partner , friend and his partner booked two double rooms at this so called hotel (hostel if truthful) and were looking forward to our stay after viewing what after our arrival were clearly very dated pictures of this place. Now i must firstly say we were aware that this was one of the cheaper accommodations on offer in tenby and i regularly use budget accommodation so im far from being harsh here . I'm a working class man who is happy with understanding you get what you pay for with anything but even so this place really was the pits . Dated , unclean rooms with bins still full from previous guests .A breakfast that a starving dog probably couldnt muster up the courage to eat and décor that would be more suitable in a 1970s working mens club .Our second night of the two was considerably the worst with our adjacent room (10 welsh louts ) having a room party until gone 4am with no intervening from the manager until out third complaint via phone. The blatantly loud conversations from the party including talk of class A illegal substances were perticually worrying but not as much as the evacuation of the hotel at 7am with lack of sleep due to the louts setting off the smoke alarm with them smoking in there room (all rooms non smoking ). The manager did contact me in the morning offering us a next nights stay for free (via text message not face to face the coward ) which i politely declined and when i asked for a refund for the night from hell it was him (geffen i believe ) who declined .
good luck in the future with your hostel think youll need it .

Room Tip: dont book here

We feel we must now respond to this review as, following his apology by text and promise to remove it, he has not done so.
On the second night of their stay I recieved a phone call at 4am about noise on their floor which I IMMEDIATELY responded to (within 3 minutes); 2 girls from 1 room had joined 3 boys from another and had propped the door open to chat. The girls were sent back to their room and the boys door closed with a warning.
At 7am the fire alarm went off which I disabled. I check the whole building, to suspect that one of the 'culprit' rooms had been smoking. Guests were reassured it was a false alarm.
At 8.30am the 'culprit' guests were asked to leave without breakfast and they went.
At 10.30 I text our 'complainers' to offer breakfast any time of day at their convenience but would not commit to a full refund for 2 couples for 2 nights until we could chat about it face to face (I felt a sinlge night refund for the one couple that had been disturbed plus half the previous night cost as compensation quite fair).
I waited in reception till 2pm when the lady brought me the key and left; waited to chat to the gentleman to discuss my offer but never saw him.
The review then appeared claiming there were "10 Welsh louts!!!" (clever play on words as there were 2 'louts' in room 10!!), that they had rung 3 times (we responded immediately to the one and only phone call.
So much for his promise to remove the review following a refund.

“What a dissappointment”

We came away for two night break and thought the 'hotel' looked great until we turned up and thought what the heck are we doing here. Ive never been to such a awful place before that class themselves as a hotel. The owners should be discussed with themselves at advertising this place. And should not be able to serve food with hairs in . Have you every heard of food hygeine? Properbly not. I would not recommend this place to anybody it is not fit for purpose and i feel we were very let down. And to charge extra for towels is a disgrace. Im not suprised its up for sale, lets hope the next owners have a bit more pride about them and turn this place around else nobody will want to come.

We sincerely apologies that your experince was a disappointment. We were away for a few days in hospital and had a 'stand in' Manager who, in fairness, was not sure of the 'ropes'. Our website asks our guests to bring towels but we have provided towles free of charge if required for 2 years now as well as tea/coffee trays on request.
Also, apologies for the 'hair on your breakfast'; had it been mentioned at the time we would have provided a new breakfast and a refund without question.
We do advertise as a B&B on our webiste but there are 'tourist sites' that still have the old hotel advertised from 3 years ago when it was a 3* hotel (with related rates) and restaurant which is probably where the confusion has arisen.
Apologies again.

“What a great place to say”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

Recently stayed with a group of 10 friends and signed up to the water sports weekend. I only live 15 miles away but would come back in a flash. Amazing value for money! Great spot, great breakfast, great welcome. If your looking for an adventure weekend in one of the nicest coastal places in the world then look no further..

“We will definitely come and stay again!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

My children and I came for the May half term holidays with my Mum. The hotel is situated right next to a little play area and overlooking the beach so great for the kids. Our room had a spectacular view of the south beach and right across to Caldey Island! The room was clean and tidy and the prices very reasonable. The breakfast was scrummy! An 8-10 minute walk (with children!) and your inside the old castle walls where we had lovely meals in both "Qube" and "The Bay Tree"! On our last night we took a bottle of wine out on the decking to watch the sun go down!! We will definitely come back again! Thank you to Gethin, Caroline and staff at the Kinloch Court!

Room Tip: Room 4 1st floor & 1 above room 4 2nd flr
