Tenby is an architectural gem of a town, with a medieval street plan, some fine Georgian and Regency properties overlooking the Bristol Channel & largely-intact town walls. We've been twice in six months. We so enjoyed our stay at the Cliffe Norton in August that we had no hesitation in booking again for Christmas, The food is all that anyone could wish - high quality ingredients combined to produce tasty & varied menus, presented for maximum eye-appeal on the plate & in portion sizes that never left you feeling under-provided for. Martin is a chef proprietor & his pride in his kitchen is evident from the highly-enjoyable results. He and Christine run a genuinely friendly hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and their own cheerful dedication seems to be repaid with loyalty and commitment amongst their hard-working staff. A word about the premises too. The Cliffe Norton combines three originally separate properties with slightly differing floor levels, which lends the layout real character. There is an attractive 'grand staircase' in what had clearly been a high-status house and the decor here in particular makes the most of it - definitely added value in my book. The level changes are clearly manageable even by relatively elderly people, to judge from the large number of older guests during the Christmas period. Good all round then & clearly we're not the only guests who willingly come back for another stay. Like I said, we'll give it five.
