My boyfriend and I ended up choosing this guest house becasue it had such positive reviews. All the positive comments were spot on. I am a bit fussy when it comes to guest houses, some would say a bit OCD! This guest house was spotless! So clean! The lovely couple who run it are calm, kind lovely people who do as much as they can to make sure you had a relaxing, great time. The rooms are spacious and nicley decorated and feel homely...but very clean and tidy! Breakfasts were awesome and they even did the best veggie sausages. I would totally recommend staying here.

Julienne & Peter Grove offer a warm and friendly welcome from the moment you cross the threshold of this superb Victorian Guest House.Ideally situated for a short down hill stroll into the town,the nearby wine bars and restaurants make the return journey a pleasant incline.We stayed in a Superior room that was bright and cheerful and enjoyed the early morning sunshine through the large picture windows(Even in October!) The well stocked mini fridge,flat screen TV and DVD player were also an impressive bonus,and the room was enhanced by a large en suite with a great shower.Breakfst was served in another large and bright dining room,and the locally sourced produce makes breakfasts a memorable affair.This was an excellent value for money stay.If you are in Ilfracombe try the Dorchester and see what a Guest House can really provide with motivated proprietors,who want to make your stay a good one.

Great welcome from the start we booked 3 nights in a premier room really spacious,comfortable room with sofa and fridge for our picnic stuff - useful to us.
We are keen walkers and coming back muddy and wet no problem for Julienne who stored our gear - Thanks. Great choices for breakfast. A very relaxing break for us with walks to Exmoor a short drive away lots to do.

After searching the net for a holiday we discovered The Dorchester Guest House and after reading the excellent reviews it was getting we booked a weeks stay in Sept 2011. The reviews were spot on. This place sets the standards that all others should follow. Our room was very fresh clean and tidy with a small flat screen tv and dvd player in the room, mini drinks fridge, and the most comfortable bed. The warm welcome from Julienne really makes you feel at home and shes genuinely a lovely person who would do anything to help and make your stay the best it can be. The quality breakfasts set us up for the day and when we returned after our day out (we didnt have the best of weather) the heating was on to warm us up nicely. As I said in the title...The Dorchester is just fantastic.
