yes 15 to 20 times, lost count over the years.food is excelent, nothing
like a hot bath late afternoon, after a day in the hills.also if you have a dog no problem mine was a rather large german shepherd[ leisha ]she also got her sausages for breakfast.staff like joan and paul make the stay a pleasure.a packed lunch if you miss breakfast for an earlay day hillwalking.

Room Tip: dont get a room above the bar.the noise of pool balls, top floor is best much quiter

“Unhelpful Barman”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

I visited this Hotel just for a drink with some walking friends and we stayed most of the night as their was good Scottish music on and we were able to dance.
The evening was very warm and it was extremely hot and stuffy in the room.
I asked the duty barman if the hotel had any fans and he replied "It's not that hot in here and no we dont have any fans."
I propped open the two entrance doors and opened a side door to let some air in but the barman closed them all immediately.
Lo and behold the same barman appeared with a fan and plugged it in but he gets no votes from any of us for being a helpful sort.

“Cheap and cheerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

Myself and my wife went to the Star for their 6 course banquet weekend, 2 nights B & B and the banquet for under £140, the hotel if tired and needs a redecoration but the staff, food and entertainment is top class. It is one of those 'everyone should do' events but a lot of people wouldn't want to do it again.
The entertainment is fun and gets the crowd involved and between the musicians and the staff everybody knows everybody else before the night is through.
A truly highland welcome and I will be back but it may take my body a few years to recover from the cheap drink and dancing.
