Braeriach is a fab B&B which we've been to a number of times and we're going back later this year. We've tried to find decent accommodation all over the Highlands as we're up there a lot, and it's very difficult to get away from flowery B&B syndrome. Braeriach is different. Fiona has great taste, and it's like being at home - you can curl up in the sitting room in front of a roaring fire and it's just heaven. The family who run it are very welcoming and the meals are superb, so definitely go for that. There's the river flowing past outside, and it's in a really handy spot too for all sorts of Highland pastimes.

Basically, if you want to stay near Aviemore, go straight to Braeriach without bothering to shop around. It's the business!

“Outstanding scenic B&B! Highly recommend!!”

We have just gotten back from a one night stay on June 25, 2005 at Braeriach House, an amazing B&B in Kincraig. Kincraig is about 2 hours up from Edinburgh. Although the picture of the house is beautiful on the web, the house and gardens are even more stunning in person. There were four of us and we had two large ensuite rooms. Take advantage of Fiona's outstanding cooking and pay extra for the 3 course evening meal, you won't be disappointed. Bring your own wine or buy some at the little shop right down the street. Her breakfast was also wonderful! We did not want to leave and will definitely return. We all had a peaceful and relaxing stay, while enjoying incredible water views and lovely walking trails. Would be a good base location if wanting to go to Loch Ness for the day, as it is only an hour's drive away.
