“Simply The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2009

I've been visiting Braeriach guest house for 13 years now and at last I've found a way to tell everyone how great it is! It is simply The Best - The best rooms, the best location, the best atmosphere of any guest house I have ever visited. Hence the fact that I have gone back so many times. It's only a small place with 4 bedrooms, but every one of them is superb. They are beautifully decorated and kept in A1 condition. Breakfast is excellent and taken in the bright dining room with a fantastic view. We spent last weekend celebrating my dad's birthday there - champagne and birthday cake in Braeriach's lovely garden right by the river Spey. It doesn't come much better than that.

“An absolute gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2009

An absolute gem of a guest house, in a beautiful, peaceful location on the banks of the river Spey. The rooms are tastefully decorated, spotless and spacious. I’ve visited Braeriach several times and have tried all the guest rooms. They all meet the same high standard. The communal rooms are also lovely, with the dining room having a particularly stunning, uninterrupted view of the river and the Cairngorms.
We paid £38 per person per night for 2 of us sharing a double room. That included a full Scottish breakfast and we felt it was excellent value for money.
The only criticism I could have is that the guest house’s website is slightly confusing and really doesn’t do it justice.

We enjoyed a great a relaxing weekend in this charming guest house, with beautiful views from our tasteful and spacious bedroom, with great views of the River Spey and the Cairngorm mountains.
One of the best places we have stayed in the highlands. Will not disappoint.

“Dissapointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2007

We booked a room with a bath. Turned up got given a map told you can eat there there or there. Very basic pointing in the right direction of breakfast room and lounge which were in darkness and very cold. It seemed like host never really cared or was interested.

We left shortly after!

“You won't do better in the Highlands, trust me I've tried!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2007

Braeriach is a fab B&B which we've been to a number of times and we're going back later this year. We've tried to find decent accommodation all over the Highlands as we're up there a lot, and it's very difficult to get away from flowery B&B syndrome. Braeriach is different. Fiona has great taste, and it's like being at home - you can curl up in the sitting room in front of a roaring fire and it's just heaven. The family who run it are very welcoming and the meals are superb, so definitely go for that. There's the river flowing past outside, and it's in a really handy spot too for all sorts of Highland pastimes.

Basically, if you want to stay near Aviemore, go straight to Braeriach without bothering to shop around. It's the business!
