We have seldom found a 'sure thing' in our travel experiences. Drumellie Meadow B & B is an exception, and will not disappoint. This comfortable, modern home, set in extensive gardens, well away from towns and busy traffic, has its own pond rimmed with native plants and grasses - the perfect place for quiet contemplation or a leisurely stroll after one of Pat's gourmet breakfasts.
Well situated in the heart of Scotland, Drumellie Meadow is within an hour's drive of numerous points of interest in central Scotland and the eastern highlands. Our hosts Pat and Don Devine, native Scots, are well-versed in the history and lore of this part of Scotland, recommending many places to go and things to see.
We stayed for several nights, becoming familiar with our hosts and this lovely area of Scotland. After busy days of exploring castles, museums, manor houses, Wildlife Sanctuaries and gift shops, we came home to the comfort of the spacious living room with its incomparable views over the garden. After our daily excursions, we enjoyed congenial conversations with our hosts over a pot of tea with shortbread -- Pat and Don have a gift for making travel-weary strangers feel at home.
Drumeille Meadow's bedrooms are tastefully appointed and comfortable. If you sleep anywhere, you will sleep here, with nothing to disturb your rest but the sleepy chirping of the birds, or perhaps the thought of another delicious breakfast from an expansive menu to look forward to. There are also several good restaurants in the immediate area, for dining out.
If you are interested in value for money, Drumellie Meadow B & B will leave you with a favorable and lasting impression. We plan to return. You will too.
