“Superb!!!!!”

We just got back from a 4 day stay at the Glenisla hotel - room # 1...........what an experience ...........the owners are the sweetest people and nothing is a hassle. The food is great, my other half, being a vegetarian, had plenty to choose from each and every day! A very cozy well stocked bar/pub with a great coal fire to warm you up, an impressive whisky selection (about 40 different ones!) We also met great people over there and we honestly can't wait to go back. We fell in love with the surroundings, in one word our time at the Glenisla hotel was SUPERB!!!!! Thanks Shelley and Warwick & Liz for making us feel so comfortable, and a special thanks from Mad Mac too! We'll be back as soon as we can :-)

Stayed at the Glenisla Hotel whilst walking the Cateran Traill. We stayed using their
Cateran Package, which included packed lunch, and transport to walk start and end points each day.

Blazing fire in the bar ( handy for drying wet boots) Bed extremely comfortable( room 1 ).

Meals good portions and even managed to cater for a fussy vegetarian.

“Absolutely value for money !!!!!”

I would sooner keep this fabulous find to myself but that would be unfair on the very welcoming owners, Shelley and Warwick. Booked here on chance that it was geographically positioned within driving distance of Raptor World whom we were booked to go out on visits with to witness some countryside in Blairgowrie. Both my husband and i were so pleased we had done so as it was just everything we needed. Comfortable - inexpensive room. Fabulous breakfast all freshly cooked and delightful evening meals. The service from all staff was first class, nothing too much trouble. Will i return ? You bet, as soon as possible as right on the hotels doorstep is some of the most spectacular scenary Scotland has to offer. If you are new to the area I would advice giving Stewart at Raptor World a call and book a really wild day out with him. I loved every minute of my five night stay. Big log fire a bonus !!!

Room Tip: just enjoy whatever is on offer

“comfortable beds but”

The ladies running it are fab -the guy in charge needs to learn some manners. Having made a huge fuss due to my "parking wrongly" he then said "anyway, what do you want and what are you doing in here?" get this - I had been a resident there for a day already!.

The parking wrongly fuss was because I parked behind some other cars as it was snow covered outside and the only space was on the end - the hotel is situated on a road edge (on a corner, something carefully not shown in the pictures) if you are unfamiliar with the road you cannot tell if you are actually parking in the middle of the road or not when the road is snow covered - of course it would have been easier had he bothered to clear the snow. - wifi does not work , showers a waste of time, brekkies are great cooked by a lovely elderly lady

“very well cared for after a long day in the hills”

Roaring fires, drying room for wet kit, good whisky selection, tasty meals in enormous portions, comfortable and clean rooms, endless hot water. Perfect for a week of hillwalking in the rain. The prices are very reasonable, the staff helpful and friendly and the service accommodating. We had a great week.
