Our first stay in the Montrene Hotel & it will not be our last, the friendliness of all the staff was beyond belief & they go out of their way to help make sure you have a relaxing enjoyable stay. As regards food, well i need bigger size clothes after working my way through a 5course meal every evening & a huge breakfast, there was a wonderful selection & all deliciously home cooked.
The room was clean, comfortable & spacious, the amenities were brilliant, had lots of fun playing snooker, ping pong & swimming, this hotel & all the staff made for a fabulous holiday.

We were a party of 6 with ages ranging from 20's to 80's. We stayed at The Wight Montrene from 23rd Dec to 27th Dec 2011 and all had a fantastic and memorable Christmas. The quality of the food served in the restaurant was excellent as was the service provided by the friendly and efficient staff, there was also a very impressive buffet in the evening on Christmas Day. The hotel appeared very clean and was in very good decorative order. Throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome by all members of staff, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Great value for money, extras like afternoon tea/biscuits/Christmas cake and evening mince pies/ sausage rolls were included, as was the cocktail reception on the day of our arrival. Also plenty of activities, lovely indoor swimming pool, table tennis, pool and full size snooker table. The owners have to be congratulated for the very friendly, warm and relaxed atmosphere at this hotel.
I would agree with other reviews that this hotel deserves a higher rating than 2 stars, we would love to visit again.

Fantastic hotel,with great staff,large breakfast menu,and multi choice evening meals. I tryed the oassis spa,on site at the hotel,this year,and had two,full body massage,that was so relaxing,that the 60mins went so quick. The extra 6 days i had before the xmas,twixmas,new year,was good to explore the shops,on the island,an to walk around the many paths,an tracks(take some wellys). there was full board at xmas,fun n games,every day. Always use the pool,steam-room,jet-spa,as you are on holiday. Five stars for a two star hotel. No need to find another hotel,now the wight montrene,has it all,that i need.

This was our first stay at this hotel and resort,what you have to understand that it is a 2 star hotel.Rooms are clean and tidy,the bathroom was a little tired looking,but again clean.The food was all very nice and seemed to cater for all tastes.The bar was all good with a good selection of beers,wines and spirits etc and prices were good.Entertainment was very good during our stay.Staff are friendly and always had a smile.My only criticism is the tea bags and coffee.Would I return,yes,but in the summer.We had a lovely time here.
