Parking, there is no where to park if you return after 6 at night. The room was shoddily furnished back in th 1970's. The bathroom wreaked so strongly of bleach, that it burnt my wife's throat. The disposable plastic cup in the bathroom, had been re-used , put thru the dishwasher, but still had toothpaste stains on it. The room was stinking hot with only a small window which opened onto a busy noisy main road, so sleeping was very difficult. The pictures in their brochure and booking.com website are inaccurate, eg no flowers on the verrander etc. It is not in Sandown or Shanklin, but in-between on a dull main road, with no cafes, pubs nearby. The breakfast was well cooked but very low quality food, it costs less than a pound to make I am told by the owner. This is a not a hotel but a low grade B and B, and definitely not 4 stars. The male owner was rude and had an aggressive attitude when we asked if we could leave a day early, we left anyway but still had to pay for the night. It is the worst place I have ever stayed in, anywhere in the world.

very disapointed with accommadation, the room had a bad smell of damp.
on arrival I went to the bathroom and when I lifted the toilet lid someone had done a number 2 and it was just sitting there at the bottom of the loo, the inside of the kettle was full of scale and unusable, the cleaners came in every day to make the beds & change towels but we found all they did was put the top cover straight, underneath the cover the bed was left crumpled as we had left it, the towels was only changed once in the 5 days we were there. The furnishings in the lounge was not the furnishings they portray in their brochure it is completely different and very shabby, my sister sat on the sofa and fell into the base we had to pull her out, this was not due to her weight she is only 8 and half stone. the parking was very limited ( first come first serve )
With shabby furnishings & bed linen, I cannot understand how ashleigh House Hotel has a 4 star rating. We were there for 5 nights and paid £700.00 for 2 rooms,
well over priced and over-rated, we would not recommend this place to any one.
We will defiantly never be going back there again.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights bed and breakfast on 18th,19th & 20th August and were made to feel very welcome by Tessa and staff. Our room was very clean, spacious and faultless. The only downside which is no fault of the owners was the noise, this was due to some inconsiderate holiday makers who had no respect for others staying at the hotel! The honesty bar is an excellent idea and makes you feel part of a family. Breakfast was lovely, plentiful and the service was outstanding. This stay was a suprise for my partners birthday and Tessa even collected and put flowers in our room, thank you again for that. On the whole this hotel is a lovely place to stay and we had a nice break. thank you Tessa :-)
