No Registration on arrival. Tea brewed and brought up to our room but no tea or coffee making facilities. No TV. No Alarm clock. No working radio. Hair dryer (old and) not PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) tested and thermal cut out kept activating due to excess dust on intake filter. Radiator - cold, required bleeding and gurgled throughout the night. Additional bedding available on top of wardrobe. Shower -worked ok and clean. Lower underneath section (where water service enters appliance) missing, allowing fingers into shower casing. Breakfast - Not cooked, "Continental" ie cereal, toast, jam & marmalade, a banana, juice, tea and coffee. No other fruit, yoghurt or pastries. Payment - cash only, no receipt given. No written cancellation policy. Owner specified non refundable deposit but wouldn't refund our second nights remaining payment (given in advance). Owner -friendly although rather vague, hadn't remembered our booking, hadn't written down our booking, seemingly didn't remember our return visit either before we cancelled with 24hrs notice. Excellent location and clean and simple - Hangers in the wardrobe were cut down so the wardrobe doors would close. Not sure clothes would stay on the hangers. Just don't think its really 3 stars. £32 pp/pn. Not comparable to other 3 star B&B's we stayed at during the week priced around the same. Victorian style building, decorated / modernised early 1990's - it's 2010 now though. No web site/online booking/ photos. Like I say, shame really. The Hotel Inspector would sort it out!!
