The owners were very helpful and knowledgeable with recommendations what to see and do on the island. The small but friendly b&b is located near the Broadway area, behind the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre. Within 5 minutes you were on the seafront, although it is a bit of a hillwalk back up. There is a bus stop outside and is served during the day. For the main regular bus services you need to go down to the seafront where they will take you to the bus and rail stations for connections for the rest of the island.
The town centre shops and the Manx museum are also walkable between 5 to 10 minutes from The Strathmore. There is a pizza place, other eateries, a small convenience store, post office and a barbers within a 2 to 5 minute walk.
Breakfast is superb with a choice of cereals, followed by a lovely cooked Ulster breakfast. The en-suite room was adequate with own shower, tea, coffee, kettle, heater and tv.
At a reasonable price between £ 25.00 to £ 30.00 a night made it a delightful stay.
