“Better than the best hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2010

From the moment we arrived - in the dark and quite late - we felt at home. The rooms each have their private 'patio' and we were blessed with three fine warm days. There is everything in the room you might ever want, Breakfast became the highlight with the best eggs benedict I've had outside the US. I cannot recommend it too highly - it is worth every penny of the amount over and above usual rate,

Chris & Frances

“Sumptious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

Gail and Grant are the perfect hosts. Providing sumptious accommodation, the like of which we have never seen in a B & B before. The breakfasts are delicious and an unforgetable experience, served in the elegant conservatory. Their willingness to advise on the area and their "nothing is too much trouble" approach makes for a truly relaxing and memorable experience.

“Luxurious B&B with friendly hosts - what more could you ask for?”

After enjoying a 4 day break at Koala Cottage in 2009, we decided to return to Godshill for Cowes week at the beginning of August in 2010 but this time we stayed for 7 nights! We again received a friendly welcome from Gail and Grant who are the most helpful hosts you could wish to find for whom nothing is too much trouble. The little touches such as fresh milk left in your fridge daily to make drinks are really appreciated.
Our accommodation was a deluxe, spacious suite with comfortable beds, Sky TV, CD/DVD player, radio and fridge. The huge ensuite bathroom has a Victorian roll top bath and separate shower unit and there are plenty of fluffy white towels and robes that are so comfortable. Complimentary toiletries are also provided.
We were greeted upon arrival to find a welcoming picnic hamper complete with wine, cheeses, biscuits, pie, fruit and chocolates - ideal for our visits to the pop concerts at Osbourne House over the weekend.
The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful, ranging from traditional country-cooked locally sourced English breakfasts to smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or freshly caught haddock that Grant collected from Ventnor especially for us!
There are local restaurants, pubs and tea gardens all within waliking distance - the Taverners pub provides excellent, well-priced meals and the Essex restaurant is also worth a visit.
Koala Cottage is highly recommended for couples looking for either a 3 or 4 night break or like us, stay for the whole week.

“Just amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

Gail and Grant are the perfect hostesses, the suites are top notch and the breakfast's are to die for! (Thanks for the sausages Grant)!

Bed ultra comfy, roll top bath was huge, full sky package along with wifi was a plus for the Husband when I was putting my glad rags on.

Great location, nice range of nick nack shops etc and if you visit you MUST visit the Taverners. My husband and I are real foodies and we ate here every night!!!

Didnt get chance to use the sauna/hot tub but were offered.

We really enjoyed our stay and were made to feel incredibly welcome!

“A perfect spot to stay on the Isle of Wight!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

We stayed at Koala Cottage for five days and would certainly stay there again if we would make another visit to the Isle of Wight.
The cottage is located in the very nice little village of Godshill, close to just about everything there is to see and do on the island.
The rooms are very large and beautifully decorated. They have a large sitting area, sky TV, a mini fridge and a large and beautifull bathroom. Every room has its own outside entrance and a small terrace.
Gail and Grant do everything they can to ensure you have a good start of the day. Grant cooks you a delicious breakfast, the way you choose it from their breakfast menu.
Gail and Grant are very friendly people with who you can have interesting conversations but they don't impose on you. They have just the wright balance between involvement with their guests and insuring their guest have enough privacy.
We had a very pleasant holiday with them and would certainly recommend their B &B to eveybody.
