“Excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Westbury Lodge for a long weekend. The owners Kath and Dave were very good hosts and very attentive on arrival, Kath made us feel at home straight away and offered us drinks, teas and coffees. Our rooms were very good, spotless and cosy and I slept soundly on my 3 nights there, very peaceful. Breakfast was lovely and everything was available that you could possibly want. It was perfectly cooked by Dave and Kath was very attentive to our food needs and plenty of tea, coffee and toast. A perfect weekend for me and my friends and we will definitely stay here again.

“Great English Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

What can I add to so many great reviews? You certainly put your hearts into this B&B and it shows. You have both turned this charming old English home into a warm and welcoming, comfortable and cozy B&B. The bedrooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean and we were bowled over by your flaky light French croissants at breakfast; they are better than most we buy in France!

The sea air is refreshing and the stroll along the seafront esplanade and through Rhylstone gardens to Shanklin’s old town with it’s thatched roofed cottages is very picturesque. Your advice about where to dine was spot on. “The New Inn” for seafood and game and ambiance at Shalfleet and “The Pointer Inn” at Newchurch for ambiance, great English cooking with plenty of fresh vegetables from local gardens and the most amazing deserts helped to make our stay very memorable. They put a lot of Parisian restaurants to shame. Your objectivity about places to visit on the island was also very helpful. We enjoyed visiting Queen Victoria’s holiday home and roaming around the gardens on the estate and visiting the quintessential English Village of Godshill with it’s medieval church. The boat trip out to the Needles was probably slightly over rated by some guides but it was a good excuse to breath in the sea air and admire the scenery.

Thank you for making us feel at home and for that wonderful cup of good strong hot English tea upon our arrival!

Kath and Dave run the best B&B on the Isle of Wight. Immaculate rooms maintained to a very high standard with a breakfast second to none. Highly recommended.
