If you want the very best guest accomadtion in Ireland,without doubt go to Carnwood house Holywood near Belfast.A breakfast to die for,and just wonderful hosts Laureen and Richard. Only 4 minutes from the city airport and 10 minutes from the city centre.

All the reviews of Carnwood totally reflect the high standards achieved by Laureen Woods at Carnwood. I have stayed at all the other B & Bs in the Holywood area reviewed on trip advisor and believe you me this is the No1by a long shot. The only reason I'm writing the review now is that after nearly a year of regular fortnightly visits, I will no longer be a business visitor to Northern Ireland. With only three rooms I selfishly did not want to share this gem with anyone! You've got it just right Laureen (better mention Richard too !!). I was over for my first week in a new job, and was obviously nervous. The welcome as i arrived at Carnwood House was so warm and friendly i relaxed immediatly. The building was beautiful and Laureen made me feel so at home that i could not think of a better place to stay. My room was beautifully decorated, very clean and included a TV, iron, hairdryer and to my surprise and joy a plate of fabulous biscuits next to the coffee/tea/hot chocolate. An added attention to detail was that milk was provided fresh each evening as i came back. Breakfast was more reminiscent of a five star hotel than a bed and breakfast!
Laureen, I will be staying with you again in January and on a regular basis, thank you for being like my favourite Aunt that spoils you rotten.
Anyone reading this, do not hesitate in booking as you will not be dissappointed i asure you.

The graciousness of the hosts was only matched by the beauty and spaciousness of the house and our room--all exceeded our expectations. It was the best B&B or Inn that we have stayed at in this price range--in the U.S., Europe, or Canada. Everything felt luxurious and the hosts paid attention to every detail. It feels as though it is out in the countryside, but still is walking distance to Holywood town center, restaurants, and walks along the Lough. We would recommend the Carnwood House to anyone staying in the Belfast area.
