The hotel is lovely, rooms are comfortable and large, a great sea view. The food was very good (yes you have to pay for extras, but that is a minor gripe). The problem is with Clayton (the Manager). It looks like most of his guests come from old peoples coach parties, and if he has a hotel full of people he is a lovely bloke and can be welcoming and quite comical. However when I went back a year later the hotel only had a few rooms taken and he was moody, bordering on insulting! He was also quite short and rude to my wife when she telephoned him before we went to confirm arrangements.
So if you go to Preston Sands with a large coach party everything will probably be good - and if he upsets you, just remember he looks like the little bald-headed one from The Benny Hill Show.
