After booking online into another guest house in the area, and after looking at the room, my wife and I decided not to stay as the room was at best scruffy, but in reality dirty. The booking made was based on excellent reviews, which was a surprise. Who were the reviewers?.
We came upon The Carrington by chance and after asking to see the room we realised that this was how a guest house should be, having never stayed in one before.
The hosts Angeline and Brian were most welcoming and friendly.
Our room was spotlessly clean, large enough for a double bed, a settee, en-suite and room to spare. Digital TV, free wifi and hot drink facilities were also provided.
Breakfast was a wonderful selection of locally produced products with a menu to suit all tastes. Evening meals were also available. The hosts were happy to help advise on the local area when asked but otherwise blended into the background.
Angeline and Brian are to be congratulated on their guest house and the way it is operated.
Our stay at The Carrington was very enjoyable, particularly after a questionable start to our short holiday.

Travelled with my wife, three Children and Mother-in-law for our first stay at the Carrington, this Guesthouse has new hosts who took over the hotel last Christmas.
The rooms we stayed in which were three were all claen and well decorated with on suite in each. all have televisions with freeview and tea and coffee making facilities.
My Wife and my room also had a large sofa in a double room.
Can I just say that Angeline and Brian the could not do enough for their guests and the breakfast they supplied was excellent.
The guest house is in a excellent location close to the seafront, railway station and all the amenities you would need.
I know that my family are looking forward to our next visit and hopefully it will be longer than the two days we stayed this time.

A very friendly and clean B&B. The location is excellent, far enough from the loud bars and clubs at the end of the street, but near enough to be only 1 mins walk from the seafront.

I have stayed at this B&B in Paignton each of the last three years. Just one night each time. It is very convenient to the train station, and the beach. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy. The price is excellent.
