Just back from another lovely short stay at this lovely boutique B&B.
Have now stayed in 2 of the rooms & can highly recommend both. Loved the Japanese bath, felt luxurious! This time we had the four poster bed & whilst the room was small(ish) it felt very grand. The en-suite had a really nice shower & I felt perfectly refreshed before breakfast! The B&B's decor and furnishings are very modern and minimalist creating a feeling of space. Having both stayed in a number of hotels & regulars at Premier Inn & Village hotels we are impressed with the standards of cleanliness & hospitality Piers provides!
Reading some of the 'not so good' reviews I believe Piers has defended his hotel well, yes he is quirky (in a good way) but you could not want more from him, he is attentive to your every need. We had difficulty parking on occasion and he always offered his advice, I also cannot understand why people would have a problem with Piers enquiring what your plans are for the day? After all he is a local and if you engage in conversation you may learn a little something or find somewhere new to visit! We certainly left with a smile & would like to try out the other rooms!
We do have one recommendation for the bedrooms of this hotel! We felt that during this stay we were too hot despite the window being open - obviously it is the height of summer though! Perhaps some form of air conditioning could be installed in the future? This would be the only reason we would mark the B&B down. I personally found the beds extremely comfortable and cosy; the towels are huge and so soft; the breakfast delicious & presented well; & all the extra's are a lovely touch!
The price is reasonable and all that's left to say is I can't wait for our next stay!
