We stayed at this hotel once a month for about a year. During the first few months it was great but it got worse towards the end. The last 4 or 5 visits were quite bad, we had different problems every time. Things like no internet, no hot water all weekend, no staff at reception when you want to check in etc. We've send numerous emails but haven't heard back once.
A year ago I would have recommended it but not any more. There are better places available, especially places with better service.

We have used this hotel as a stopover on our way to Surrey. It offers clean, comfortable, rooms with spacious comfortable beds and good facilities.
The staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. The Health and Fitness club is superb with a very good cafe/bar which offers simple snacks and full meals at reasonable prices.
Durham is a short bus-ride from the hotel. It made sense to leave the car at the hotel as parking in Durham is difficult and expensive.
We have stayed at this hotel twice and will make it a regular stop on our sojourns south - very accommodation for a day or two.

We arrived too early to book in however reception staff offered us full use of the gym,sauna, pool ect even provided towels. Room was clean and comfortable TV tea coffee ect. Meals were provided at the gym and staff put themselves out preparing my food as i was on the Dukan diet. As gym members we were offered significant discount. In the gym the machines are fitted with games so a bit of mahjong as you cross train

Super clean rooms. Great to have use of health club, not a central location but suited me just fine. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great hotel and goovalue for money.
