“Tranquility at it's Best”

Martin the farmer welcomed my daughter and i with cream teas after a long journey. The farmhouse was beautiful.
Our room was amazing, spacious, and peaceful. We had luxury named products in our en suite bathroom, shower gel, handwash and shampoo. We had soft cuddly dressing gowns and white fluffy towels.
Bowden farm gave us the best breakfast we have ever tasted, the scrambled eggs with salmon and the organic full english was lovely.
We had full use of the lounge with an inglenook fireplace and also the dinning room.
We had a relaxing time, if you want peace and quite with hardly any people, this is the place.

“Get away from it all”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2010

This is a lovely bed and breakfast. On arrival we had a cream tea which was lovely, as was breakfast the next morning. Our hosts were very unintrusive and didn't make us feel at all awkward. Our room was spacious and the extra touches, such as fresh milk, wine glasses, heated towels were very nice. Our daughter (age 2) had an extra bed and childs plate and cutlery, her favourite part was going to see the chickens! The only negatives we had were that we found it quite hard to find and were expecting the luxury bath we had seen on the website! Overall excellent value for money and a relaxing stay.

“Beautiful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2010

We stayed here fore 3 nights and had a lovely time. The house / rooms / garden & location were absolutely stunning. Every thing was very clean and comfortable (the bed espcially). The breakfast and homemade afternoon teas were wonderful and delicious. It is a bit isolated so you would definitely need a car.

“Really nice B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

All the good things everybody else has said are true. Nice rooms, okay shower, lovely breakfast etc. It's in the middle of nowhere so you need your car at all times. One small point spoilt things a bit. We stayed for 3 nights and on the first morning left our towels on the floor as it seemed the best place for damp towels knowing they would be replaced. When we came back in the evening they had been hung up and were still damp. We assumed after 2 days they would surely be replaced, but NO! Same towels for 3 days which was a first for me. Like I said, really nice place so don't be put off by this.

“Outstanding B&B of the highest quality.”

A lovely tranquil B&B. Excellent accommodation, breakfast and hospitality.

The Old Custom House (JamesDuckett) in Barnstaple is an excellent choice for dinner.
