me and my boyfriend stayed in the snow queen roof which is in the loft we could hear everything in the romm below (yes everything!!!!)

this was our 10th stay we love the american cabin very friendly hotel total chill out time ,friendly staff and great breakfast cant wait to book again !it feels like your at home so comfy with surroundings !

Myself and my partner have stayed at this hotel three times in 2011. The hotel is a themed boutique hotel and each room is unique and decorated to a different theme. We have stayed in the Italian Suite, Chic Paris Suite and New James Bond Suite - All three rooms were so lovely I couldn't pick a favourite!! Each time I have stayed I have had NO complaints, the rooms are cleaned and presented to a high standard, the staff are friendly and helpful, the spa facilities are inviting, the breakfast was tasty - try the berry fruit museli it's delicious!! The hotel doesn't have it's own restaurant for an evening meal however their sister hotel offers evening dining or the local town of Bowness is less than a five minute drive where there is a lovely chinease named The Golden Fortune - they serve the best duck i've ever had or alternativley there's a family run Bistro named Jackson's Bistro where we found the food to be amazing!! The only constructive critism I would say (NOT A COMPLAINT!!) is each time we have stayed they seem to be short staffed e.g. The same lady checked us in, served us evening drinks when we got back to the hotel at midnight, served our breakfast at 9am the following morning, then checked us out at 11am - this poor lady seemed very busy and looked as though she could do with some more staff to help her!! This hotel holds special memories for us, it's where we made our relationship official & where we celebrated our anniversary....We will be back!!

Stayed in one of the lodges which was just OK. Upon arrival we parked by the bins which were overflowing and more bin bags all over the floor. Checked in and was shown round by a nice lady. However upon seeing our lodge i immediately thought it was just Ok for a shed. Had to go into bowness for dinner as this B&B only affered us snacks for dinner, and upon our return, and despite the lack of lighting we managed to avoid the string traps and lack of footpath to get back in our shed. It was a really cold night but could not adjust room temeperature as thermostat was disabled. Bathroom was freezing and none of the functions on the fancy shower worked apart from the basic shower, which had no water pressure and was like flicking water drops at someone. Toilet flush would stick, resulting in constant filling up of cystern. Hot water was also very cloudy? Outside it was too cold to use hot tub and i could not understand why the owners had not invested in enclosing the hot tubs, so they can be enjoyed all year round?
In the morning we went for the full english which was one cheap sausage, one rasher of bacon, one egg, a couple of mushrooms chopped up and less than a quarter of a slice of fried bread. Toast was cold and the butter was frozen and we were only given one small cup of coffee. Breakfast was an insult and below supermarket cafe quality.
Upon ckeckout i was asked how everything was & i clearly said "I suppose it was maybe just OK" expecting the receptionist to be interested or maybe concerned at my negative attitude. But she wasn't bothered & i won't bother going back. There are far better hotels in this area for less money offering more value.
