“The Hideout - Fabulous!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I took my girlfriend for a surprise birthday treat to this latest addition to the Cranleigh's properties! We stayed for two nights and probably picked the coldest on record!!

The property itself was warm and cosy with all the creature comforts that you could ever dream of. We were greeted by the owners and they even gave us a lift up to the property because of the icy roads - this was a good thing since there's no way my car would've made it up the road in such hazardess conditions :-S

We were greeted by chamgagne and chocolates on arrival, which was a really lovely touch. They'd put rose pettles on the eqquisite four-poster bed, and even little chocolates on the bedside tables.

The property was gorgeously warm and cosy and the decor was immaculately done. My other half wanted to pick up the bedroom and take it back with us!! The property had its own amazing cinema sized telly (or at least it seemed to be that big) and there was even a remote controlled fire - nice touch!

We ate out both nights and the highlight was a fabulous meal at Mela, the local Indian restaurant. If you're a fan of Asian cuisine then you're in great hands!

I have to say that it's one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed at, and I would heartily recommend it to anyone. Bravo! If you're looking to impress the Mrs for a romantic getaway then you'll not go wrong by booking in for a couple of nights.

Thanks for making it so special.

Julian

“Central, friendly, homely and romantic.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

Rooms are comfy, breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Staff couldn't have been friendlier or welcoming.
Very central location.
We had a lovely time. Thank you.
A beautiful old building so if you have mobility problems, make sure you aren't on the top floor. Not wheelchair friendly ( but that's just the layout of the building ).
Lovely, lovely, lovely!

“The Hideout - An amazing surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Hideout

I've just stayed at the Hideout, the Cranleighs brand new property hidden amongst the village of Bowness and I've got to say it was a real treat! We didn't expect the standard and the quality of the place to be as high as it was. From the decor to the home entertainment system is was absolutely mind blowing. The stay was a surprise for my boyfriends birthday and he already wants to go back again next year. Thanks to the Cranleigh for making it so enjoyable and the service was welcoming and professional. 10 out of 10!!

Stayed here for 2 nights in a grey January. Made to feel welcome from the minute we arrived and everything spot on. Room and hotel in general very clean. Standards high. Good breakfast with proper dry cure bacon. Some good touches - for example, a free lake cruise voucher in room.

We recently stayed at the Cranleigh as part of a January offer and we stayed in Room 5 for two nights. The hotel staff were great from the moment we booked the hotel.
The rooms are decorated to a very high standard with some excellent finishing touches. For example the underfloor heating, spa bath and plasma TV in the bathroom. There was a good choice for breakfast and the cooked options were well presented and expertly cooked.
The location is only a minute's walk into Bowness where we enjoyed a lovely wander round and ate in some lovely bars and restaurnts. We also took advantage of the spa facilites and they were great too - just what you need after a chilly afternoon cruising on Lake Windermere.
On our second night my boyfriend sprung a surprise proposal on me and the hotel staff were great - sorting out champagne buckets and gave us some extra chocolates.
A fantastic hotel and we will be back next year to celebrate again.
