“Good value Travelodge, handy for Stoke and Surrounding Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Stated here in Feb 2012. New hotel, rooms spacious and clean. Helpful staff. Located near to Newcastle under Lyme Town Centre

All in all, a good option if you can get a decent rate. Plenty of free parking on the car park which is shared with Lidl next door.

“One night stop on New Years Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I got an incredible deal on a family room (I won't say how little I paid!), even though there was just me there. It was a room only, so I can't comment on breakfasts etc but the building looks brand new, the room was absolutely lovely with tasteful decor & soft lighting, the only criticism was that the bath was a bit small. Other than that it was fab with tea making facilities to boot. Incredible value with a double bed & bench bed . Oh yes, unusually it shares a car park with Aldi! Will likely stop there again but doubt I'll get a room for what I paid then. (£12!!!)

“Very Nice”

Stayed here for a night in December and was very happy with the stay. The room was warm, lots of car parking space and staff were friendly. The only problem I had was the lock on the bathroom door was broke and I didn't care enough to complain. Don't know what people expect for £30 a night!

“If the location would do for you; come here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011 via mobile

Stayed for 3 nights over the weekend.
1. Excellent location with plenty of parking space.
2. Rooms are small but will do if you are single
3. Staff very helpful
4. Very noisy if your room faces the road side. You will not be able to sleep if it is Friday or Saturday
5. Breakfast is very very poor. You will not eat it but for prepaying for it.
6. I will go back as the location is very convieniet for my work

“Cheap, Cheerful but what do you expect for £19 a night.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

I'm a bit bemused by some of the negative reviews of this travelodge. Surely you know in advance what you are going to. Travelodge has always advertised and been upfront about it's 'no frills' rooms. If you expect anything else don't book a travelodge.

I have stayed in many travelodges over the years and can honestly say this is one of the best. It is about time Travelodge modernised and this is exactly what they have aimed for and achieved in this hotel.

This is our second stay in this particular travelodge and we are more than happy with it. The room is comfortable and clean and was cleaned for us each day. Like some other reviewers there was only one set of towels present this time, although this was not the case on our previous stay. This was easily rectified with a trip down to reception.

Granted there can be noise. I am a very light sleeper and tend to toss and turn anyway but I was only woken up once on the first night of our stay (Saturday). The traffic does pass the travelodge into the night but from about 11pm the cars are few and far between.

We ate breakfast on both days which we had pre booked. All you can eat and a big, varied selection so we ate as much as we liked.

We will definitely be back again as my fiance's family live very locally to the travelodge, but I wish people would stop slating it. It is a room to sleep in and for £19 a night, you cant complain.

Room Tip: if you dont want to risk being given a room near any noise, ask for a room to rear of hotel.
