have stayed at Mercure Wetherby several times on business. Lots of car park spaces. The rooms are superbly inviting after a long day travelling with sofa to relax. I've tried breakfast only a few times, as I always leave the hotel early in the morning. Very easy access to A1. Like the hotel and the staff.

I stayed in Wetherby on New Years Eve package. We checked in before 12 which was great. Room was ok, room service menu with drinks a bit overpriced. The party was amazing and the beef was gorgeous. Room looked amazing, lots of balloons and decorations. Last year we stayed in Hilton and it wasn't good as this one. Its was great value for money and we definitely stay at Wetherby again.

The hotel was a good price and the staff were friendly, it is more a budget place, not luxury, but perfectly ok for an overnight stay for the race meeting. The very worst thing about our stay was making the mistake of going into the Black Bull pub, in Wetherby village. My Husband and I had booked a table for at the Sant Angelo, and prior to going for our meal after the races, we decided to call for a drink. We went into the Black Bull, but were completely ignored by the 2 female bat staff. We waited for nearly 15 minutes and they just blanked us. We stood at the bar and they served all their regulars, and when there was no-one else but us to serve, they began washing up. We left without a drink and would never go back there again. We were absolutley astounded,`to say the least. We live in Crete in Greece and they Greeks are lovely and welcoming, it was a shock to find our own countrymen blanked us!

Booked hotel for a work collegue who had to amend the dates due to parents being involved in an accident. Had to cancel and rebook three days before stay but hotel still took £690 for the original booking and he had to pay again for the new booking. Room was small and run down with a broken shower and no bath. The television has just hotel channels and not freeveiw. Beware hotel films at £19.95. Bar prices very expensive along with the food. Burger and chips £13.99 side order of chips £3.50. Lager around £4 a pint. One of my collegues was woken around 1:30am by noisy people returning to rooms and complained to reception who told him to stop causing trouble. Parking is £10 per night and has barriers so you cannot get out until you have paid the bill. All in all not a very nice place, run down and overpriced.
