Thank you very much to Mark and Di for making us so welcome and for a very pleasant weekend and a first class breakfast. We very much enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending the Chandlers most highly - we will return again.

I have stayed in Weymouth for a couple of nights most weeks for the lat 2 years - and have tried many places to stay. Chandlers is my place of choice.
The Chandlers is a guest house not a hotel (which seems to be a point negative reviews have not grasped). The few rules they ask visitors to abide by are in my view to the benefit of other guests - and no different to the way any decent person would behave in their own home.
If you want a central location (with parking), cleanliness, clean bedding and towels and a hearty breakfast they deliver. Its not the cheapest in town but in my view you get what you pay for
Mark and Diane the owners have become friends. In 2 years I have only seen them be polite and courteous to fellow guests.
I have stayed at Chandlers many times after arriving or leaving Weymouth by ferry- the
place is always immaculate, and I am very fussy about cleanliness ! Both of the owners are invariably polite and friendly, the breakfast is excellent and the car park free.
Yes it's a tad expensive but I always think you get what you pay for and for the reliability
of multiple stays without a single grumble from me....I think it's worth it.
having just spent the weekend at the chandlers,i was supprised to read some of the comments made by others on this site,i cant belivethat the Mark and Dianne that i meet could be in any way the same people mentiond in one of the comments i have read,They where the perfect hosts, the rooms where very cleen and tastfully decorated.and the service exceptional, and the best breakfast ever.i am convinced that some people dont understand the difference between a guest house and a hotel, and if they wish to have 24 hour service then they need to stay at a 5 star hotel in future,(and pay a lot more for the pleasure)
Just have to say that the good standard of accommodation and superb breakfast is spoiled totally by the owners attitude and what seems to be an almost military style of management.
Check in was handled very abruptly by the guy checking me in, and I felt like a nuisance when I asked where the car park was situated.
I was given short shrift when I had the nerve to arrive at breakfast 5 mins earlier than the appointed start time, I was shooed out of the dining room and the door slammed in my face and was told come back in 5 mins. It was rather odd when the door was opened 5 mins later with a big smile and a good morning, felt a little bit like the people running the place are a bit schizophrenic.
Buck your ideas up guys on the service front, remember your guests pay your wages, you are the overheads!!!!
