The Good - A warm welcome by friendly staff and what turned out to be a three course meal for two plus a bottle of French Shiraz for under Fifty Pounds , this being possible because of a birthday invitation offer of a free meal ( it appears all customers are offered this in exchange for their date of birth and email address ). The cooking was of a good quality as indeed were the ingredients , my rump steak was excellent and cooked to order.
The Bad - (This section short and forgivable) comment one would say that the tables are too close together ( well it is the season for part time diners ! ) . Two , would say that the crispy duck pancake roll was dry and tasteless ( so I should have saved that order for the Chinese restaurant !!! . and finally three - the lamb was lovely but sitting in the gravy in the middle of the food the chef had placed a shot glass filled to the top with mint sauce which was not required and was unremoveable without causing serious damage to the table cloth.
The Ugly - Well fed, warm and happy after a pleasant evening whilst exiting the restaurant up a narrow stairway to street level we had to negotiate a smoke haze created by a waitress and her companions.
Advice on this one is do visit as indeed I will again just hold your breath for those last few steps when leaving.

We ate at this lovely restaraunt on Wednesday 30th November 11. The service was freindly and efficient. The food was cooked and presented without fault. The place was packed out and so I would recommend booking in advance as we had done.

This is a really good restaurant, small and friendly with wonderfully cooked food. Try their twice cooked beef - it's to die for!

My wife and I visited the Riverside and found it to be an excellent restuarant, using whre possible fresh local produce, We were made very welcome, the service was excellent the food was excellent. nothing to complain about - try it you will be pleasantly surpised
