“Magnificent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I couldn't possibly rate the cottage lodge high enough, The b&b is set in a beautiful location the area is amazing, breath taking walks and fantastic local food (Italian and pub were second to none).

We were greeted by a really happy member of staff made me feel very welcome (the home made cake was worth the 3 hour drive!).

We stayed in the Wilverley, and WOW it is gorgeous, very very clean, the decor was much superior to any B&B i have ever stayed in, the four poster bed was divine, the en-suite was great (especially the 3 little duck we had joining us- lovely touch) , nothing beats a long soak in a huge tub after a few hours of walking and I haven't slept so well in years !! What really topped it off was breakfast in bed - something we don't usually treat ourselves to.

The Breakfasts are fantastic, perfectly cook and local produce - the other half had a big grin on his face when he saw the amazing food !!

When reading reviews on cottage lodge we saw how many people wrote gleaming reviews on it, We saw that the snug was one of the huge highlights of this B&B and to be honest we never thought we'd use it , but we were wrong - the snug has a beautiful and calming feel to it, its fantastic to relax in it after a walk, with tea and some home made cake.

The care and consideration taken by the cottage lodge was amazing there was even folders full of information or local walks, restaurants (with menu's are reviews) and local attractions.

I will be returning to the cottage lodge at the next given opportunity !!

Thank you for a fantastic break !!

Room Tip: The Wilverly room is fantastic !! Huge Tub and Large 4 Poster bed !!

“A cosy New Forest base”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Cottage Lodge is a lovely bed and breakfast in Brockenhurst in the New Forest. It's a great place to explore the New Forest and while we don't have a car, it was still a great base. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, bicycle rental, a quick taxi ride to the New Park Manor spa, and on the train line to a number of places - we went to Lymington for the afternoon. And there are loads of ponies and horses roaming free in the town and on the bike trails.

Cottage Lodge is a lovely place to stay. The 'snug' which you enter into as you come to Cottage Lodge, offers a cosy place to sit, enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and some cake and read the newspapers and number of local guides. We filled out our paperwork in the snug and then were shown to our very large and comfortable room (William I). The bed was very comfortable although it was two twins put together to make a king, the tv was nice and big (and they have a dvd collection which you can borrow from downstairs), lots of closet and cupboard space for your things, a radio and cd player and really lovely skylights! And the bathroom is absolutely wonderful - fantastic large bathtub, complete with bubble bath and rubber ducks as well as a very large shower. The room was very quiet - we never heard anyone else around although it was full both nights we were there.

You can chose to have breakfast in your room or downstairs - we had it in our room both mornings - you just choose what you want the night before and they bring it all up to your room. The food was lovely - yummy cooked breakfast as well as toast, fruit, juice and coffee or tea.

Our stay was so comfortable - we arrived a bit early as well but they were happy for us to leave our bags while we went out for a bike ride. Brockenhurst is small but there a lot of restaurants and pubs, a very convenient small Tesco for any little things you need, and plenty of natural beauty around.

We also visited the New Park Manor for a spa afternoon - 2-6pm with full use of the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, hot bath and experience showers as well as amazing outdoor Canadian hot tub - such a great experience with the horses roaming by as you soak. We had a lovely champagne afternoon tea in the spa cafe, in our bathrubs - pure relaxation! This spa is recommended on Cottage Lodge's website which is how we found out about it.

Cottage Lodge, Brockenhurst and the New Forest are very relaxing and a really nice place to visit.

“Just fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We absolutely loved the Cottage Lodge, and would happily recommend to anyone considering a visit to the New Forest. The William 1st is really spacious, and the bathroom with double shower and corner bath is fantastic. This place has a really welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The staff are brilliant. Definitely the best B and B ever. Can't wait to return!

“Fabulous escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had such a fabulous stay - great value using a voucher from livingsocial.

Ponies were wandering outside when we turned up and the warm snug, tea and homemade cake were a great way to get warm when we arrived. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, without being over the top.

We had a 4 poster room...Gillies Holt. It gorgeous, much better than the pictures. Was nice to have a room which was so large and airy. Breakfast was tasty, so lovely to have it in our room for no extra charge. We liked having our own little entrance and not having to walk through the main house when we got back late.

Had some great meal (really recommend the Pig), lovely walks and fab afternoon tea in Rosie Lees.

I turned up tired with laryngitis and left feeling so relaxed and with my voice back! We're already recommending to friends and family.

“Very quirky, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

If you want to stay somewhere that includes free cake and coffee this is the place to be! A warm welcome with very friendly staff, I felt very much as if I was in a good quality hotel with extra attentive service. The rooms were very well equipped with full tv service and internet connection. There were more pillows and cushions that I would shake a stick at, comfortable bed and complimentary water. Beautifully stocked bathroom with thick towels and good quality soaps, mine even had plastic ducks.

Breakfast menu was as good as many hotels I have stayed in. Full vegetarian options all cooked to order. Slight downside - the building although quaint does carry noise however, due to the comfort of the rooms I slept like a log regardless. My colleague who is one of the most difficult to please customers I have ever come across and usually gets his nickers in a twist at the slightest issue was so taken by the rest of the facilities let the creaking floors and snoring go without complaint. I would love to go back but next time with my partner, not with work!
