My husband and I came back yesterday from our a "Parisian break" which we had booked from the hotel website. It included one night stay in a superior oakwood room and a dinner at the French restaurant.
We got there by train and were collected by the concierge and enjoyed 10 % discount on the package by submitting our train tickets at reception.
The hotel location is ideally located close to the station, the lovely village and the forest.
The room was nice and spacious as you would expect from a 4 stars hotel (although did not have much carachter) and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
The SPA facilities are great, very relaxing, they come at an extra charge of 35 £ per person but the hotel free facilities (pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi) are equally good if you are only looking to have a relaxing hour or two.
The only disappointing experience was the French restaurant.
Although the staff were excellent the venue lacked atmosphere and the food was just average. We had the game terrine and nicoise salad for starter and thes ea bass (3 disappointing small mouthfuls of fish) and the lamb as main which was good. As dessert the chocolate brownie was Ok but the tart tatin was more like an apple pancake and was tasteless.
Despite the disappointing dinner we had a lovely time and we would recommend the hotel and spa.
