“Very welcoming; very much a home-from-home”

My wife and I stayed for two nights at the beginning of October when the weather was miserable, and still managed to have a very warm, welcoming and relaxing time. The owners were exceptional hosts, and went above and beyond to make sure we were at ease. The setting and cottage is beautiful, and although it is situated at the edge of the town, nowhere is really that far from anywhere else in Callander; this coupled with the excellent walks and beautiful scenery meant even walking to and from the cottage in rain was a really enjoyable exeperience. The room and cottage were lovely, and the breakfast provided was astonishing. Every effort is made to ensure you have a great stay and we very much did.

“Charming hosts and cottage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Our first night of a three night trip spent here. The bed was a little soft for us and hubby rose with a sore back or I would have given an extra star.It was a home visit experience rather than a B&B experience due to the friendly hosts and platter breakfast. We wanted to finish it but couldn't find the space .Five star breakfast thanks.

Room Tip: We were in the biggest room Kirtle and it's not that big. This is an old cottage and the rooms sm...

“Welcoming & Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This was the first B & B we stayed at during our 2 week holiday tour of the West of Scotland. Lucy & Sid's warm and gentle welcome set the tone for the whole of our stay. And so we expected similar standards for all of our other stays but nothing has matched their hospitality and genuine care for the comfort of their guests. Comfortable beds, tasteful and contemporary decor without the feel of a typical B & B. Food was amazing, all locally sourced/homemade - you can taste the quality, and Sid's a brilliant chef. Lucy attends to all their guests requirements. It is quite clear that they both want their guests to feel relaxed and comfortable; nothing is too much trouble. We'll definitely stay at Roslin Cottage when we're back in that area.

“An exceptional experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Lucy and Sid the owners treated us to the best of Scottish hospitality. This was our first trip to Scotland and what a curtain raiser! Breakfasts were superb. Lucy took quiet and careful note of what were the obvious favourite pieces of each guest, and individually and subtly increased the portions of these every day. Sid is a superb chef and they make a winning team.
Although facing the main road into Callendar, the fully double glazed windows kept noise to low unobtrusive levels. The room was spotless and well equipped.

Room Tip: Only three rooms here, so book early and ask for the Kirtle Room

“Fantastic breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

Needed to find somewhere near Callender and chose Roslin Cottage because of the price and good reviews. Stayed in the Cherry View room which is very small but very compact with everything you need. Only suitable for short stays because of minimal drawer and hanging space. We stayed two nights which was fine. The view of the garden and birds in the cherry tree made up for the lack of space. It was a pleasure to open the blind in the morning. Didn't need to close it really because it wasn't overlooked.
Syd made us really welcome and showed us round on arrival, including the garden. You must take the time to look round his garden, it is huge and has every kind of vegetable you could think of.
Every review mentioned the fantastic breakfasts and we weren't disappointed. Really set us up for the days walking ahead. Beautiful scenery and plenty of walks in the area. We hope to return very soon.
