“Thank you for a wonderful stay in the best B&B in Scotland!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

This was our fourth visit to Arden House and it never fails to impress. In fact we ‘engineer’ a visit every time we visit Scotland if we can; it’s so good. We had the usual wonderful warm welcome from William and enjoyed the very welcome tea tray in their beautiful lounge. That alone is a treat in itself. Our room was lovely, warm and comfortable and as always it’s the attention to the little details that make it so special. The breakfast – well it’s always worth getting up for – Ian does a brilliant job. By the way - your fame is spreading; we were out with a group of folks only yesterday and got talking about holidays places etc. And, yes, they stayed with you recently as well while attending a wedding in Callander and they were full of praise too! Haste ye back? Yes please!

Room Tip: Any room will be fantastic but the Tannochbrae Suite is my favourite.

“A Beautiful Home full of character”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

My wife and I together with our son and daughter arrived at Arden House in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by William who provided us with a fabulous tea served in a cosy but elegant living room that is provided for the use of guests. We stayed in the Tannochbrae room which is simply delightful and has a big bay window with two comfortable arm chairs where we could enjoy the extensive view of the lovely gardens and the hills and mountains beyond.
Every day William gave us a great breakfast with a fixed menu and also a variety of daily specials so there was plenty to choose from along with breads, fruit and scrumptious Greek Yoghurt which I had never tried before. We also got to try Haggis about which I will withhold any comment. This was served in the charming little dining room downstairs. William was also most helpful advising us of places to visit and restaurants that he recommended - Poppy's, the Meadows and the Lock (not misspelled) Inn we thought were particularly good.
On our last day we finally had the pleasure of meeting Ian who took a short break from overseeing the back of the house to say a quick Hi! We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and will always remember Arden House and its totally charming and warmhearted hosts who made us feel so at home.

“Lives up to it's reputation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

What can we add that has not already been said about Arden House? It is exceptional and what a duo! Thank you William and Ian for making our week special from beginning to end. We stayed in the Tannochbrae suite which supplied our every need. The room is large and comfy with arm chairs placed in front of the bay window overlooking views over the Trossachs. We enjoyed returning 'home' each evening and looked forward to our 'special' breakfast menu, even tempted by the haggis! A longer stay is definitely recommended to enjoy the area. One trip not to be missed is the train journey from Crianlarich to Mallaig which goes over the Glenfinnan viaduct made famous by Harry Potter. We loved our stay and plan to return in the future.

Room Tip: Tannochbrae Suite is worth the extra cost, large comfy room with en suite bath/shower. Lovely views...

“Full of Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

My wife and I along with my parents had two rooms at this delightful home in September. Our hosts were warm and made us feel very comfortable during our stay. The rooms were in very good condition and clean. Breakfasts were delightful in the cozy dining area where you could interact (or not) with your fellow guests about the days events. The house has a beautiful garden and there are wonderful areas for walks nearby. The location is also very central where day trips can be done to a wide range of areas. William was very helpful with recommendations for day trips recommending the scenic route and also giving great advice on restaurants and attractions and even booking these for you. An excellent stay and we would return.

“Attention to Detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

We loved our two-stay night stay at the Arden House in Callander for my husband and I and my business partner. William was very charming, warm and welcoming. Ian made the best cake, biscuits, bread and tea ever. The decor was beautiful and we loved the crisp, clean linens, fresh water in the rooms, toiletries and outstanding breakfasts. We appreciated the booking of the recommended restaurants and the hike right outside the B&B.

Room Tip: Our double room was a little small for us returning from a business trip with all our luggage (black...
