Fiona and Derek make you feel very much at home in their beautiful house. They have done a wonderful job of renovating and landscaping the property. They have made it extremely comfortable, although with period furnishings. Breakfast was first rate, and there is tea in the evening. It is a little bit out of town and up hill. Our superior room was large, quiet and had a great view of the gardens.

We had a very nice stay at the Brook Linn. We booked two rooms for our family of four (kids ages 10 and 13). We discovered the place in the Karen Brown guide, which rarely misses, and took their suggestion to book rooms 2 and 4, which were very spacious and clean, with fabulous views. Excellent bathrooms. Our favorite thing about the place were the grounds. It is on a high hill for great views, and you can stroll the gardens for a relaxing time. It is close to town (10 min walk or 2 min drive). If you are staying at a B and B in Callendar you can't go wrong here. I would not stay at a place on the main road as the road is pretty busy and it would be a bit noisy I think. Breakfast also very good and Derek and Fiona fine hosts. Also, the price is a very good value. Callendar is a great location for the Trossachs. Be sure to go to doune castle - better than Stirling for us, and walk loch katrine in the late evening in the summer when the crowds are gone. Just get that lotion for th "nits" bugs.

We are surprised that Brook Linn doesn't have a perfect score. It's in a great location, the grounds are lovely and our room was large and very comfortable. Plus the price cannot be beat. Derek and Fiona were gracious and helpful, giving directions and making dinner reservations for us. The breakfasts were very nice and they went out of their way to feed us when we had an early departure. Would definitely come again, The Trossachs and Lochs in the area are beautiful and everyone should visit them at least once.

I stayed at Brook Linn in mid-June, and it was the perfect start to my vacation.

My room was a lovely double with a nice view of the hills. It was clean and very comfortable. The shower was a bit small, but I'm a "fluffy" woman.

My hosts couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The included cooked breakfasts were delicious and cooked to order.

The house is located at the top of a hill which requires a drive up a twisty road, but not a difficult drive once you get used to it.

Overall, the Brook Linn is a lovely, reasonably priced place to stay. Hopefully, I'll be back.
